chapter 7 after effects

I sat next to kai as he slept. Morro left a bit ago to do something but never actually told me or kai what he was doing. Kai passed out not long after, the panic attacks on top of still feeling the effects of the GHB drug Skylar put into his body without his permission made him crash. Although it Definitely was not a peaceful sleep. I sighed looking back at my younger friend. His hair was a mess, that was a clear sign something was wrong when he walked in the door today. I dont think he's noticed yet either. But his clothing and hair were a mess. He had looked like he got in a fight with someone ok the street. He was sweating a ton and his breathing patterns kept changing. He was not ok, but we are unable to do anything. If what Morro and kai said was right. She would find a way to make him pay for telling us if she knew.  I snapped out of my thoughts as kai shifted a bit, crawling further into the ball he was already in, his facial expression showing nothing but pain and his skin pale. I looked up as the door opened. Morro was holding a couple things. He glanced over at us before looking at me with a small concerned look, walking over and putting a tray and some books down. "Whats this?" I whispered, trying to keep my voice down. He nodded opening up a book. "After we discovered kai was drugged with GHB I knew he wasint going to be able to explain much. According to Wus book. This tea will help him remember what happened when he drug wears off however when the drug does wear off he will be exhausted and will most likely feel sick." Morro mumbled. I hummed in response. He sat beside me on the bed, glancing at kai then back at me. "Whats on your mind?" He asked.
I sighed. "Its nothing. Just thinking." I mumbled.

I sat beside the bed quietly. Its been a few hours since kai had passed out involuntarily. Coles distracting the others at the moment. Trying to keep them from seeing him like this, knowing Kai wanted this to be a secret between us three, although he probably won't remember much of it. I sighed. Skylar must have given him at least three doses of GHB. That stuff only lasts five hours. It would have worn off before he got home otherwise. I thought to myself as I looked over at the tray I prepared for when he woke up, before shutting my gaze back over to him as I heard him Groan. His eyes fluttered open and he looked confused. "Morro? What happened? Wasint I just at Skylars?" He questioned tirdly as he sat up before falling back onto the bed groaning again. I got up and walked over. "Its hard to explain, but be careful. You went through a lot last night." I muttered as I grabbed the tea I had prepared. He hummed in confusion. Putting his hands over his eyes and breathing out. "Everything hurts." He mumbled. I nodded. "I'm not surprised." I stated as I helped him sit up. For someone who dosint like being helped he didn't bother with it too much. Assuming he's not thinking straight at the moment. I gave him the tea. "Drink that. It will help." I stated as I looked around for the migraine medicine and something to help nausea, also giving him those. We sat in silence for a while as I waited for the tea to start to take effect. Deciding to message Cole. Letting him know he was awake. Cole entered the room not long after, giving kai a warm, cautious smile. Kai didnt really notice though. We all sat in silence for a bit longer. Cole and I knowing masters Wus "tea" will work very soon. As expected, kais eyes shot open in a fit of panic once it did. "WTF HAPPENED LAST NIGHT!?" he yelled grabbing onto his head. "And there we go." I mumbled.  Cole nodded, getting up. "Thats what we wanted to ask you... do you remember?" Cole asked. Kai took fast, deep breaths. "I, I remember passing out but everything after that id foggy. Though I do remember hearing a voice, no multiple voices. Feeling scared, everything was blurry." Kai stated getting up and starting to pace. "Alright kai. I need you to walk me through what happened last night after you left." I stated. Kai nodded still jittery. "I went to Skylars, when I got there she already had something made for us to eat. We- we got into a fight! B-before we calmed down and watched a movie. Thats when I passed out." He stated, stumbling over his words. "Do you remember anything after that?" I asked. He grabbed his arm pulling his sleeve up. "I remember someone grabbing at me and dragging me. I remember screaming and shouting, these loud thuds. But, nothing was clear. It all felt distant." He mumbled tracing the bruises up his arm, wincing.
Cole and I looked at each other. "Whats the last thing you remember?" Cole questioned. "I remember..." kai paused. "Screaming for help." He mumbled. I sighed and nodded. "Kai. Skylar drugged you with GHB last night." Cole said worriedly. Kai paused. "When did I get here? How did you both find out?" Kai mumbled. I sighed. "You got home this morning. You were a mess. Had many panic attacks. When you called Skylar she made it very clear what she did." I stated. He froze. "Thats right. I remember what happened... with her last night. Before everything became distant. As I was passing out. She gave me this- mashtevius smile! Saying something about taking care of me or someone shit." Kai mumbled. "That only leaves the question kai. What do you want to do about this?"
