( season 1, episode 4 : stick to the team )

Silence fell over both groups as the pink guard raised his hand, a gun in his palm. It felt like an eternity before he actually pulled the trigger.

The bullet makes a loud banging noise, and Jiwon leans back as player 001 told them to, grunting. She made sure she could still see the opposite team.

They held back like that for at least 10 seconds, all groaning and sweating.

Jiwon keeps a close eye on the leader of the opposite team, and her eyes widen when his foot slips.

" Pull now!" She yelled, standing back up. They quickly built up a rhythm, pulling almost mechanically, and they were very obviously winning.

Jiwon didn't even want to think about how unattractive she probably looked. The thought almost made her laugh.

She could see that the leader of the opposite team was starting to panic, and he shouted back at him team mates, before starting to yank on the rope.

Jiwon' steam began to struggle behind her, as they were slowly being pulled to the edge.

" We're losing, goddamn it!" Player 212 started screaming. " Do something!"

Jiwon grunted as she tried to stop her feet on the gravel, but she was just being pulled further and further to death.

" Get yourselves together and listen!" Sangwoo suddenly shouted from behind her, almost hurting her ears.

" Let's try something. Take three steps up when I signal." Jiwon almost choked. Was he trying to kill her? Probably.

" Up? What now? But that's the edge!" 212 cried.

" Look, just trust me and they'll fall!" He tried to convince the woman, but to no avail. As much as she didn't like Sangwoo, Jiwon knew he was smart.

" There's no way I'll do that!" 212 started to sob, and Jiwon huffed out a breath, frustrated.

" We might as well try!" She shouted, voice cracking and breaking from how tired she was.

" No way! I can't do it!"

" Move up or you'll die!" Surely Jiwon is more likely to fall to her death if she moves up.

" On count of three!"

" One!"

" Two!"

" Three!" They all shouted and went forward, and Jiwon almost smirked when she saw the other team fall.

She didn't have much of a chance, though, before she was dangling off the edge.

" Shit! Fuck!" She cursed, looking down at the menacing concrete below.

She dangled there for what must have been ten seconds, breathing shakily. Until the team finally started to pull again, and she was no longer dangling.

Jiwon watched the team slip and fall as they pulled, and the leader, not so confident now, made eye contact with her. Helpless.

Jiwon couldn't think about it. They die so she can live. That's how the game works.

Their anchor fell, and she knew they were done for. Her sweaty hair slapped her forehead every time she pulled, but she had now way of getting it out of her face.

Player 194's foot slipped over the edge, and soon his whole team was following, screaming.

The rope didn't cut immediately, though, and that left the team struggling to stay on their feet. Jiwon was practically crouched, feet skidding against the floor as she tried to pull.

Thankfully, it finally cut, and they all fell back because of the impact. Jiwon didn't think she'd ever been so out of breathe in her life.

She could practically smell sweat, and she coughed a bit as she panted, trying hard not to think about the dead bodies below.
