i had a thought today
and it made me quite happy
i think
that even if the universe
hadn't been on my side
and i was still with him
on that earth-shattering day
i'd still have met you
and it still would have worked
and you still would have been mine
i like to think
it would have been you
all along
and the thought
puts my mind at peace
because i love you
and i would never
want you to go away
so perhaps
the universe has always been
on my side
