Down Bad

It felt like the Earth had stopped spinning. As if everything around me has come to a complete halt. The people who were brushing past us to get into the station had disappeared. The laughter and conversations that had been floating around us suddenly became mute.

No one had ever said anything like that to me. I was completely stunned. It's insane how something so cheesy and corny could make my heart stop. I couldn't speak. Even if I could, I wouldn't know what to say.

I just stared at him in disbelief. I wanted so badly to play it cool, but every thought I had was thrown out of the window. I couldn't stop the grin from spreading across my face.

He returned the smile and laughed lightly.

"Go get ready, we have another date." He said as he turned away to leave.

"Yeah, yeah okay." I muttered still in awestruck.

I stood there and watched him walk away. He quickly disappeared into the crowd of people. After what felt like forever I turned the other way and started walking towards my apartment. The whole walk I felt like I was in a dream. I know it seems like I was overreacting but I couldn't shake the way I felt. I had been in a few past relationships and none of them ever said anything like that to me. I started to think no one even saw me like that. But he did. He did.

I know I shouldn't be losing my mind over it like this. We barely know each other. I just met him a few days ago. It feels like I've known him forever though. We get along so well. It's pretty fucking stupid of me to feel like this so soon though. But I'm not going to stress over it. I need to let shit happen and not overthink everything. He's cute and is talking to me. That's all I need. Who knows where this is going to go. I just need to go with the flow. Yeah, yeah I can do that. Just gotta play it cool.

I made it to my apartment and headed towards my room. I needed to take a quick shower and get ready.

After my shower I went to my closet to pick an outfit. I wanted something that worked for a breakfast date and something I can still wear to my classes. After a few minutes of brainstorming I decided on an oversized black and white cow sweater with black high waisted pants. I tucked a side of the sweater into the pants and grabbed my black Doc Martens.

I finished getting ready and filled a tote bag with everything I would need for today. I grabbed my phone to text Tech to see if he was ready to go.

Y/N: Hey I'm ready! Where do you wanna go for breakfast? :]

Technoblade: Wanna go to the coffee shop by the campus??

Y/N: Yeah! I love that place !!

Technoblade: Great :) I'm gonna head to the station now

Y/N: Alright I'll meet you there :]

Technoblade: Okay <3

Y/N: <3

I smiled wide at my phone screen. The heart he sent was just AHHHHHH.

I made sure I had everything and headed out the door. I had only been away from him for about an hour but I was still so excited to see him again.

God I'm down bad.

I walked down the stairs of the station and saw Tech standing at the bottom. He had a dark green sweater tucked into black pants. A white collared shirt laid just beneath the sweater and a black belt with a chain connected to it hugged his waist. To complete the outfit, he wore black docs and a black backpack.

As I started getting closer to the bottom of the stairs, he looked up from his phone and waved at me with a grin on his face. I waved back and skipped down the stairs.

"Hey Tech!" I said as I approached him.

"Hey kid." He replied.

"Kid? That's a new one."

"Ah of course sorry, princess."

I rolled my eyes and smacked his shoulder lightly. I hoped if I walked fast enough he wouldn't notice the blush that creeped up on my cheeks.

"You can hit me all you want but I can see you blushing." He teased as he caught up with me.

"You're impossible."

"Whatever you say princess"

We made our way into the train and found two empty spots to sit in.

Tech's phone was blowing up the whole ride. He did his best to ignore it and not look at it. After about 5 minutes into the ride I gave him a puzzled look.

He sighed and picked up his phone.

"My friends are the worst." He said while scanning over the messages.

Despite the fact he pretended to be annoyed, I could see the slight smile that was forming as he continued to scroll through the texts.

I laughed quietly and spoke up.

"Why are they spamming you?"

"Oh uh nothing really. Just uh about um something stupid."

He turned to me with a sheepish smile. I gave him a very unimpressed look in return but decided not to press him any further.

The train had finally come to our stop and we headed out. Thankfully the coffee shop was close and we would get there quickly.

It wasn't until the shop came into view that I realized my mistake.

"Shit." I whispered under my breath.

"What's wrong?" Tech asked, looking concerned.

I sighed and stopped walking.

"My best friend works here. She's going to try and embarrass the shit out of me." I sighed running my hands through my hair.

Tech laughed and started walking towards the shop again.

"This is going to be fun." He said with a mischievous smile on his face.

"This is going to be the worst." I said following him to the coffee shop.

Hey hey! I'm very sorry for this chapter being shorter and more rushed but I am currently sick. Thankfully it's not COVID but ya girl is still struggling hard. I'm also dealing with a crazy ass roommate here at college so wish me luck. But due to the fact that this chapter was a little shorter there will be another one coming out soon! I'm really pumped to write this one because who doesn't love giving my lovely readers just a little second hand embarrassment.
