February 14th
Faye Calinao
"Have... Have I done something wrong?" I asked Gu Weiyi as we sat in our physics lecture. I've come to a conclusion these two weeks back into the school semester Weiyi wasn't being welcoming since he found out about the news. After a weekend of resting and coming back to the lab, I noticed he wouldn't say much to me or would ask Senior Yu Yin for help when he had questions.
It seemed in a way everyone around me was this way. It could be due to all of us back into school and we're now in the second semester. Classes have begun picking with their workload. Ximen seemed busy with his business thesis and spent many nights at Doaming Si's house and Lei seemed preoccupied with his papers and had been hanging around his friend Shancai. I haven't been around either of them since school started, but it seemed our schedules did not line up well.
"You're now getting the hint you've done something?" Gu Weiyi sighs as he continues to look down at his notebook and continues to take notes. I'm taken back at his response. "It took you two weeks to figure this out?"
"I-I." I'm at a loss why he was speaking to me this way. "Is... this about what I told you and Senior Yu Yin?"
"Clearly Faye," He sighed. I bit the inside of my lip feeling a little anxious why he was acting this way. I was beginning to feel intimidated by him. I always felt this way when I feel as if it was something wrong that I have done.
"Maybe... we can talk more about it at lunch?" I asked hopefully he would agree. Since the start of the semester I've mostly eaten alone. Sometimes Meizuo liked to join me, but they were awkward small conversations, because I didn't really know him. It disappointed me a bit that I haven't had lunch with Lei or Ximen when I knew we had the same free time to eat or hangout.
"I'm not interested Faye in having lunch with you and your boyfriend."
"It would just be us. Sometimes Meizuo joins me, but-"
"Faye," Gu Weiyi said, cutting me off and he turned to look at me. "I don't want to have lunch with you."
"Oh... okay. Maybe we can hangout som-"
"You are really needy today," he cuts me off again and I felt hurt he continued to disrupt me. "You have a boyfriend you can be needy to. I'm not interested in what you have to say." He frowned slightly at me before returning to his notes.
Feeling embarrassed, I averted my eyes to the table. Once our Professor dismissed us, Gu Weiyi quickly packed his things and left without saying anything more to me. I sighed as I slowly stood from my seat and took my bag and began making my way out of the room. I sat outside the classroom on a bench and took out my phone to see if I had any notifications.
No notifications
I thought about wanting to reach out to Ximen or Lei. Ximen seemed to be stressing over a paper he had to finish. He seemed busy and I did not want to interrupt his concentration. There were a few times when he declined my requests or wouldn't answer his phone hours at a time.
For Lei, I knew he was spending a lot of time with Shancai after an incident happened that he, Ximen, or Meizuo did not really go into. I knew Shancai was in the hospital for a few days and it seemed Lei was worried for his friend. I felt like a burden if I were to contact him when he had his school things going on as well.
My phone suddenly vibrated in my hand and I looked down to see Cha Eunwoo wanting to make a face call with me. I stood and went back into the classroom where I could prop my phone up.
"Hi," I smiled weakly. He appeared on the phone screen and smiled as he looked at me.
"Hi Faye," Cha said. "Ah, it's good that I've caught you at a good time. How are you?"
