The Traced

The room was only small. There were a few boxes in each corner, covered by a glass door and filled with different coloured wiring that imputed and outputted to all different sockets.

In the middle of the room was an old looking metal box. It was an odd shape with a small screen at the front, a chair bolted into the ground. The main transmitter connected to the ones in the control room.

The box was covered in buttons and little flashing lights. You've definitely seen a transmitter before just not quite like this one.

You walked toward the box. Eyeing the screen and the buttons one at a time. Kylo held the man in the grey jumpsuit close. Still looking dazed and swaying on the spot.

You reached your hand out and flicked one of the switches on the board. A green light began to flash and the little screen came alive.

You turned toward Kylo, his dark eyes eyeing all the buttons and lights. He draws toward it and starts clicking and switching buttons. On the screen a list appears. He scrolls down the list using a small twist control knob.

Within a few moments he backs away. You raise your eyebrows expectedly.

"Well?"

He doesn't look toward you, remaining his gaze at the screen. He then turns toward the worker, who's looking very distressed and scared. A bead of sweat breaking across his forehead.

Kylo waves his hand in front of the worker's face slowly. "You will trace message 1037 and find the location of the dispatcher."

The worker stills for a moment. "I will trace message 1037 and find the location of the dispatcher."

He slowly draws toward the transmitter and sits in the seat in front of it. He looks like he's sleep walking.

You take steps backward watching the worker begin to click more buttons and turn specific knobs.

You come to a halt beside Kylo, your shoulder just brushing his upper arm. Looking up at him, you bite your lip.

"Does he know what he's doing?" You ask and he simply nods.

"I'd seen him do it before a while ago. He was the top worker in his technician seminar." He casts his gaze down to you. "He knows what he's doing."

He swiftly looks away from your eyes and trails his gaze to your cheek then chin then nose. You look away from him spiteful, trying to hide the feeling of wanting to slap his face. You hate when he does that.

You take a step to the side, distancing yourself from him unnoticeably. You both just stand there watching the man work in the seat.

Yeah can hear tapping come from beside you. You cast your gaze back toward Kylo and notice his fingers tapping against his leg his eyes casting at different things around the room. He's feeling impatient.

He inhales a quick breath then sighs. "I'm going to keep watch outside." He turns hurriedly and exits the door. You can't help but sense his feeling of desperation. It was obvious. His anxious tapping and short breaths. He wants this situation dealt with as soon as possible.

You come closer to the worker at the transmitter, standing behind the chair he's positioned in, watching his every move.

Without warning he stands abruptly. You instinctively take a step back, continuing to watch what he does.

He slowly walks over to a short cupboard in the right side of the room. Opening the doors, he grabs hold of two long metal rods connected to a small rounded box. Antenna.
