I step into work with a little present for Jack.
As his Secret Santa i wanted to be a bit extra, buying all his favourite things.
Like his favourite chocolate, favourite candles scent, favourite brand of shampoo. I swear I'm over him !.
Don't worry I didn't actually buy the shampoo.
But I'll be giving him his candle and chocolate.
Another thing I think Jack picked my name.
Because I got an message from him yesterday he asked 'should I get something blue or red ?'
I don't even know what he was getting, but I know it's something for me.
But to his question I said 'obviously red !'
We didn't talk after that.
So as I step into work I notice Jack right away, he stood next to one of are coworkers.
Jack looked at me and smiled - I returned the smile.
I walk straight to Mr. Evans or should I say Chris office.
"Good morning" I say
Chris looks at my and just nods, he is talking on the phone.
I go through the schedule of today. Chris is suppose to go in two meetings and I'm suppose to hire someone new for the front desk.
Chris walks out his office.
"Hey" he says to me
"Hi. So you have two meeting today" I say
"Okay great and will you be joining me ?" He asks
"If you think that's necessary" I reply
"Well are you busy ?" He ask me
"No. Just need to find someone new at the front desk" I say
"Great. Can you go and ask Jack if he has printed the papers I asked him for" Chris says
I nod and go over to Jacks desk. This is perfect I can give him his first present. Just a chocolate bar shaped like Santa.
I get to jacks desk.
"Hey" I say a bit flirty. I know he is in a perfect relationship, but he and I were also in a good relationship.
"Hi" Jack says. He looks distracted by his phone.
"Did you print the paper Chris asked for ?" I ask him
"Oh yeah it's right there" he says
"Where ?" I ask
"In they drawer. Just don't open the second drawer !" He says like he's hiding something. Maybe my present.
"Okay" I say getting the files. I put the chocolate behind all his pens so it was obvious to see.
"So how everything ?" I ask trying to make some small talk
"Oh it's great" he says finally putting the phone down. "Y/n tell me do you have anyone special This Christmas ?" Jack asks
Why is he asking ?
"No. well I had my gold fish but it died so I'm alone this Christmas" I say.
"Oh sorry" Jack says trying to hide the laughter and smile on his face.
Jerk
"I should go" I say walking away with all the papers.
I get to Chris office and hand him the papers
"The meeting starts in five minutes" I say
"Great we should go then" Chris says
I nod as we both go to the fist meeting.

After all day of going in and out of meetings I was finally free. I hired someone new at the front desk. This time it's a boy, we usually hire girls but I wanted to change things up a bit. His name is Daniel, he's 18 very organised, needs money to go to university, fast learner. He's a good kid.
As I get to the parking garage I see Chris there
"Bye !" I yell
"Bye" he yells back.
I get my car keys and get in my car. Put in the key and start the engine. But to nothing happed.
Ughhh why now.
I want to get home and my car won't start.
I try a few more times but no hope my car isn't working. I don't get it, this is a new car I haven't even had it for a year.
I get out the car and open the front bonnet of my car. There were bunch on engines and wires. I don't know anything about cars.
As I stand there in the cold staring at my car for at least 5 minutes, I hear a car honk behind me.
I turn around and see.... Chris.
I just wave at him.
He gets out his car and walks up to me.
"Need some help ?" He asks
"Nope" I say. Of course I need help but I'm not going to admit it. I hate it when people help me.
"So you are just staring at you car engine ?" He says to me.
"Yes" I say.
"Okay " Chris says. He just stand there next to me in complete silence.
After a few minutes when I was completely freezing I admit it "fine ! I need help" I say.
"There you go ! Was that to hard ?" Chris says with a mocking voice.
I just look at him annoyed.
I stand there as Chris checks the car out "it's a very nice car" he says
"Thanks" I reply
"Is it new ?" he asks
"No got it 6-7 months ago" I tell him.
"I see" he says.
"So do you know how to fix it ?" I ask
"Nope" he reply's.
Ugh !
"So I should call a truck right ?" I say
"No that's pointless, nobody will come get your car at this time you'll have to wait until tomorrow" he says
"Come in I'll drive you home" he says to me
No way I'm letting my boss drive me home. I know exactly what will happen. He and I will start talking, and star sharing something that happened in are past or something like that, then I'll end up having a big crush on him. NOT HAPPENING!!
"No it's fine I'll just call a friend" I say knowing I have none
"Really ? What friend ?" Chris says.
"Just a friend" I say
"Okay I'll wait here with you until your friend comes" Chris says
"No it's fine" I say as we both just stand there awkwardly in silence in the cold.
"There is no friend, is there ?" Chris says to me
"Nope" I answer as we both get in his car.
