Secret Santa (Christmas addition)

Chapter. 12

I get home after spending Friday and Saturday with Chris.

I still don't know how to feel about all this, I mean Chris is an amazing guy but he is my boss if things don't work it could really affect are work.
But he so perfect and gentle I want to lay In his arms all day, Everyday.
Every time I close my eyes I just see him. This is more then a crush.

Okay I'll try talking about something else then Chris.

Okay well I've been thinking about going to the mall, I haven't done that in a while. Get some new outfits and stuff.
I mean I should buy Christmas gifts but for whom should I buy ?

I'll just make a list of all the people that are important to me.

I get ready and go to the mall.

Long time since I came here. I walk into a candle shop and see what I can buy for Suzanne. I know she loves everything orange coloured so I'll get her this orange candle shaped like a pumpkin.

Ohhh I'll buy Daniel something to !

In the end of the day I had bought a gift for everyone except Chris. I still don't know what we are. Are we just coworkers ? Friend ? Nobody ? I really don't know.
Should I go for something simple like some socks or maybe a bit more expensive like a watch ? No that's to much.

I'll just put his present on a hold for a bit.  Or maybe I shouldn't get him a gift. What if he's not getting me a gift ? Ughhhh everything is so confusing.

I get in my car and drive back home.

Get into my empty apartment.
I put away my shopping bags and I go straight to my kitchen I'm really hungry. I open my freezer to find some frozen chicken nuggets. Namm.

I heat up some chicken nuggets, while I'm waiting for my nuggets I go through some of my emails and finish of some work.

I finally sit down and eat my food when a phone call disturbs me. It's a familiar number but it's still not in my contact.
I answer

"Hello ?" I say

"Hey " I hear the familiar deep voice.

"Hey" I say knowing exactly who it is.
Hint: Chris.

"Am I disturbing you ?" He asks

"Not not at all" I say

"Okay good. I was wondering if your doing anything on Wednesday ? " he says

"No. Why do you ask" I say

"Well there is something important I need to discuss with you, and we will do it over dinner" he says making it sound way more professional then it should "and It's my treat so I'll pay" he says "and put on something fancy. Only if you want to" he adds nervously.

"Wait why can't you just tell me it over the phone ?" I ask

"Because it's important" he says

"Okay" I say. Then end the call

This is strange I thought he would be more chatty after everything. Me making him food, feeding him, sleeping in his arms. Why is he acting like this ?
He also has something important to say. Holy shit I'm probably getting fired because I slept in his bed with him. I KNEW IT ! 
I should have kept it professional now I'm getting fired.... Or maybe not.

If I think about it, it sound very much like a date.
Him taking me out to eat, him paying, asking me to wear something fancy. These are all the thing you do on a date.

No ! I can't get my hips high. He clearly has no feelings for me. He's probably discussing something important for work.

I have to stop overthinking it going to drive me crazy.

I get in bed and asked my sisters if they wanted to FaceTime. They quickly reply with a yes.

We all talked for hours.
So as I've told before my younger sister is moving to Sweden and she will be living with my older sister who lives in Sweden with her family.
It all got me thinking maybe if it possible I could go to Sweden this Christmas and spend it with my sisters. The only problem is duo you covid restrictions it's going to be 1000 times harder, to get there. All the covid test and quarantine.

I mean I don't mind being in quarantine it's just I'll be i it alone. Could I get any lonelier ?
