Peter came back home late that night, way past the time his Aunt May established since Jason Blossom's body was found, which was at 10 pm, not a minute more than that, at 11:30 pm. He crawled silently inside his room's window after spotting from outside his Aunt asleep on the couch, glasses on and papers on the little table in front of her. Peter understood what those papers were about, and he was glad he recieved his first paycheck that night, with a nice tip too. All summed was 35 $, it wasn't much considering what he needed them for, but at least he was helping a bit, and that only thought brought a light smile on his face. He tip-toed in the living room and placed the money inside the jar containing the savings that was on the table, then carefully removed the huge glasses from his Aunt's face and placed them near the jar. Then he took one of those papers and slowly read it, no good news was on them, and that made Peter feel worried for May: sure, she was managing to gain a good amount of money with her paycheck at kindergarten, but the amount of stress put on her shoulders was clearly becoming unbearable. Peter put down the paper where he took it from and went for May's bedroom, opened the drawer and took a warm blanket, then went back in the living room and delicately placed it on top of her, after that he kissed her on her head and whispered gently

Peter: "I love you, Aunt May, goodnight."

He, after that, went up inside his room and undressed himself, also taking off his costume and putting it in the secret compartment inside of his closet, and put on a pair of grey sweatpants and a navy t-shirt. After he brushed his teeth and washed his face, he went laying on his bed, covered himself with the blankets and stared at the ceiling, thinking to himself

Peter: (I'll have to talk to Pop about my shift: I can't make her worry about me. I also have to find something else to do, or at least do more hours, if I want to give a significative help...how I wish that Tony Stark would just show up in my house and magically solve all our financial problems...but this isn't some kind of movie, nor am I a book character: I have to find a stable solution as soon as possible. What a funny and happy life you have, Peter Parker! Well, at least not everything today was that bad...my God, Betty Cooper kissed me, and I kissed her back!...how even am I gonna explain this to Gwen? She was damn pissed the last time I kissed a girl...strange...but maybe she was because we barely knew Veronica...yeah, definetely, this time it will be different.)

To say that Peter was tired would be an understatement: he was a walking corpse, and certainly the thought of having to go to school wasn't helping one bit. But regardless of his tiredness he moved his ass and had a nice shower, put on his suit and his school clothes, then went downstares to greet his Aunt, who was sat down on a chair and was leaning her arms and interlocked hands on the table in the kitchen, she seemed deep in thought and Peter had a feeling of what that was about, regardless he greeted her
