They say it gets better
That it only takes time
But I've only gotten better at hiding it
Hiding the urge to find solace with a blade
I find comfort when the blade digs beneath my skin
And the warm blood runs down my wrist
At that moment, I feel okay
Whatever pain I felt emotionally has disappeared
But it isn't always easy to cover up the marks
Sometimes I find myself searching for new crooks to hide them
There are other ways to do this
But nothing compares to that piece of metal
Nothing soothes the pain like a razor blade
