Chapter 6

Letting out a heavy sigh Takemichi shivered at both the cold breeze but also at the memory of his friend Draken. Specifically how he instructed him with a glare, to wait outside

Rubbing his face, the black haired male frowned as he recalled the story Emma told him. Though it wasn't really surprising that the person who killed Y/n was Kisaki, Takemichi could still not believe that in order to crush both Toman and Mikey, Izana would come up with this crazy plan. Which in the end did backfire

However that only happened thanks to Hina, as she was the one who managed to bring Mikey to the Tenjiku fight

Because had he not been there that day, Toman would've lost for sure...

But now that he knew the story behind your death, the black haired felt terrible when he remembered how Emma cried to him that she blames herself for her sisters death

Her surviving is why Chifuyu turned out like this

Those were her exact sobbing words

And it was just at that specific moment that Draken came back from work and heard this sentence. At first he scolded his partner for having said something so atrocious. But afterwards he did comfort her 

" I'm so sorry Emma" the boy whispered, feeling really guilty about it

Hearing the door open, the black haired nervously gulped at the sight of his friend " Takemichi" Draken's voice was low " You better give me a good explanation as to why the hell you brought this up"

Lowering his head, the boy hesitated on whether or not telling him was a good idea. Originally he just wanted to involve Chifuyu. Because the less people knew the better

Plus, he didn't want anybody to get in his way of executing his plan

However as he thought about who he was going up against, it dawned on him that maybe, just maybe, having Draken assist him, wouldn't be such a bad idea

Y/n was Kisaki's target. At least he suspected that. But if he successfully succeeded in saving her, nothing was guarantied that Emma would become the victim instead of her sister

And if she died, he feared it would not only affect Mikey but also have a major impact on Draken's life. In other words, he would be stuck with the same but slightly different problem

Realizing that Draken could protect Emma while he and Chifuyu took care of Y/n, Takemichi's eyes filled with confidence and a small grin spread on his lips

" Well? " the braided man asked impatiently 

Gathering up all his courage, the raven haired took a deep breath and told him everything. All the while, Draken stayed silent and would occasionally nod his head with a straight face

However the minute Takemichi stopped talking, he wasted no time in harshly grabbing him by the collar and yanking him forward " Have you lost your mind!?" he yelled with such rage that it almost made the boy faint

" You're telling me, that for the sake of just one person, you're willing to sacrifice the future of others?!"

Starring intently at his friend, Draken watched as Takemichi placed his hand on his and gave it a firm squeeze " I know it sounds absurd but..." the boy bit his lip " I don't wanna see Chifuyu like this anymore!" he exclaimed 

" Draken, he's slowly killing himself. Maybe it isn't all that visible to you, but I can see it. " 

Tears welled up in the boy his eyes as he continued to speak " Everyday he's suffering. For the past months all he can see and think about is Y/n's dead body in a coffin"

" Takemichi..." 

" I have to do something! I own him that for helping me in the past" he shouted " Don't tell me you wouldn't do the same if this happened to Emma!"

Flinching at his last words, Draken's grip loosened. Thinking about it, he knew that his friend was right

Back then, if Emma had died instead of Y/n and he knew that with Takemichi's power he could save her, without hesitation, he would've done it

" You aren't wrong" he mumbled just above a whisper " I can't imagine a world without the person I care most about at my side... "

" However" he gazed at the boy " If my selfish desire would cause misfortune to other peoples lives, then I wouldn't. "

Releasing his friend, Draken let out a sigh " But I guess that no matter what I say, you're still gonna do it" 

Takemichi didn't have to respond as his eyes silently told the man his answer. His blue orbs were filled with such strong determination that it actually intimidated Draken a bit

" Fine...I'll lend you a hand" he started and quickly shushed his friend when he wanted to interrupt him " But you better be prepared to take full responsibility for everything that is going to happen. You'll be returning in a past that ended somewhat well so naturally it's gonna have consequences. And whether those will be good or bad all depends on your choices  " 

Draken's words were partly meant as encouragement but also as a last attempt to freak him out. But unfortunately for him it didn't change much 

His speech may have made Takemichi feel a tad anxious yet it didn't manage to extinguish the fire inside his heart

" I'll make sure nothing bad happens" he stated confidently
