Standing outside your favorite book shop you waited for your friend to arrive. Looking from left to right you tried to see if you could spot him. However with so many people walking around you it made it quite difficult
" What's taking him so long?" You muttered under your breath and checked the time on your phone. You guys had agreed to meet at 10 am and he was now a half hour late
Leaning against the glass frame of the store, you decided to look at some pictures to kill the time. Scrolling through your gallery you smiled as some brought up memories
Like the one were Chifuyu had taken a selfie of him with you and Peke J on the background, asleep on the couch
The situation in the photo was actually something that could be considered a miracle. Because you remembered how in the beginning, the black cat wasn't really fond of you at all. For some reason he would always hiss whenever you tried to touch him
And this saddened you
Because not only was he really cute but you always had this strong desire to rock him back and forth in your arms, like a baby
Chifuyu would always reassure you that with time, his little buddy would eventually warm up to you
And so one day when you were passed out on the couch, it was quite a surprise for him to see Peke J jump on you. The cat would very cautiously sniffle you up and down before making himself comfortable near your face. His body would lay in the crock of your neck while his head rested on your cheek
It was such an adorable sight, that Chifuyu wasted no time and immediately took a bunch of pictures
" That was quite an amazing day huh?" You nearly dropped your phone when a familiar voice spoke near your ear
" Don't sneak up on me!" you elbowed the boy in the ribs. Chuckling, Chifuyu apologized and you both finally entered the store
Walking through the aisles you helped your friend look for the limited edition of an Airplane magazine he wanted to get his hands on
The first floor search turned out empty and so you guys moved on to the second one. However that also didn't have the book he was looking for so you once again moved a level higher
" Are you sure it's somewhere in this store?" You exhaustedly groaned and cracked your sore neck. Having it tilted to the side for quite some time, just so you could better read the titles of the books in the shelves, wasn't pleasant
" I'm positive. " Chifuyu tried to sound confident, though he himself could hear the doubt in his voice
For another good amount of time, the two teenagers kept looking. And even if their focus was mostly set on finding the stupid magazine, Chifuyu, occasionally, found himself staring at his female friend as the conversation he had with Takemichi earlier kept playing inside mind

" Y/n...is death?"
Nodding in confirmation, Chifuyu let out a shaky breath. Everything his friend just told him was a lot to take in...Especially this early in the morning
" Is it just me or do I always end up with a shitty future" he tried to joke but Takemichi couldn't laugh about it. The image of his friend being in pain to the point he even tried to kill himself was strongly engraved inside his mind
" And this is going to happen soon you say?"
" Yes"
" And Draken is going to help us?"
" While he looks after Emma you and I will make sure that Y/n stays away from both Kisaki and Izana throughout the entire day" Takemichi said
" It sounds so simple" the blond sighed " Yet at the same time I can't shake off the feeling that there's a lot that can go wrong
" I know what you mean..." the blue eyed sat beside his friend on the couch " But no matter what obstacles may come our way, I'll make sure to change her future. For both your and of course her sake"
Staring wide eyed at his companion, Chifuyu couldn't help but smile as he felt moved by his words " Then let's do this, partner" he grinned
Partner...
The word itself may not having seem like anything special in other people's eyes but to Takemichi it held a deep and important meaning. For him, it symbolized his and Chifuyu's friendship
A strong and unbreakable bond between two brothers
That's how he viewed it
" Yeah " he fist bumped the boy while having tears streaming down his face " Together we'll change the future"

" What a crybaby " Chifuyu let out a soft chuckle as he remembered his partner's crying face
" Who is?"
Shaking his head, the blond looked at the H/c haired girl who stared at him with a tilted head " Nothing, just thinking out loud"
" Okay...Anyway " you held out your hands with a particular object " Here, I found it"
" Oh...that's great...thanks" he grabbed the magazine with a small smile
Furrowing your brows, you had expected a little more enthusiasm. Especially since it was something that he had been looking for, for quite some time
At least that's what he said...
" How about we grab something to eat?" Chifuyu offered " You must be hungry after all that searching"
" A little maybe "
" Then let me pay quickly and then we can go" he said and headed to the cashier
