" Are there any strong volunteers who are willing to carry C/n?" Your homeroom teacher asked with a hopeful gaze that quickly turned into a frown when no one responded to her request
" Excuse me madam?" The injured girl poked her arm " If it's okay I would like to ask Chifuyu to help me"
Hearing his name the boy looked astounded at his classmate who smiled at him " I don't see why not" the teacher glanced in his direction " Do you think you can do that Chifuyu?"
" Well.." Rubbing his neck the blond looked down at his feet " I..euhm...actually feel my own legs hurt a little from all the walking. So I don't think I can handle any more pressure on them"
" Oh...I understand." the teacher smiled " Try to take it easy then" she instructed before turning her head around and appoint someone else
Standing next to your best friend, your gaze shifted from the dejected, injured girl to the male who wore a relieved and somewhat annoyed expression
" Your legs actually don't hurt, do they?" You chuckled and nudged his arm playfully
"Maybe a little but not to serious" Chifuyu admitted
" Then why did you lie? You hate her or something?"
Shaking his head, the dyed blond haired male leaned on your shoulder with his elbow " No, believe me I'ld have helped her if it wasn't for the fact that she's really clingy and talkative around me " he sighed dramatically
" And why do you think that is?" You asked, despite already knowing the answer
"..."
" Don't know but it's annoying"
" Oh my god Chifuyu! How dense can you be " You snorted into your palm making your friend look at you questionably " It never crossed your mind that she might be into you?"
His bewildered expression along with his agape mouth told you enough that this was brand new information for him
" Well... Now I know that it's because of your stupidity that you're always alone on Christmas Eve "
Glaring at your smirking face, Chifuyu took you into a head block " Shut up and walk " he groaned and dragged you with him

After some time had past, the once quiet and peaceful forest was now filling itself with noises of grunting and whining students. Many of your classmates where starting to get tired but also frustrated at how long the walk was taking
And despite your teacher efforts to try and lift up their spirits by making conversation, nothing seemed to work
So after a while she just gave up but still encouraged everyone to hold on a little longer
" I know you're all exhausted but try and stay grouped everyone " She instructed when she noticed some students trailing behind
" Hey, you holding up okay?" Chifuyu asked his female friend, who seemed to struggle walking
Nodding your head you tried to pick up the pace despite the stinging sensation underneath your feet. Gritting your teeth you suspected that you had a few blisters
And even though the pain became much more intenser with every step that you took, you tried to push through it as you didn't want to bother Chifuyu or anyone else with it
However after another hour of hiking, it just became too much for you to handle
Hearing something hit the ground, the blond halted and looked behind him. His brows furrowed when he saw you sitting on the ground, clutching you feet
" What's wrong?" He quickly crouched down at your side
" Sorry " you faintly smiled at him " I just need to rest for a bit"
You guys were already quite far behind from the group and so before Chifuyu could call out for them to wait, they had already disappeared from his view
Though he knew that the exit of the forest wasn't that far anymore, maybe another twenty minutes or so, the boy sighed as he could tell by your posture, that it didn't seem like you would move another muscle
And so he was left with only one option
" Climb on"
Confused you looked at your best friend who was offering his back
" Huh?" You gasped
" Come on, hurry up. We've got to join the others before they notice our absence and start to worry"
" But earlier you said-" you stopped mid-sentence when the blond send you a look that told you to shut up and listen
Sweat dropping, you did as was told and hopped on. Wrapping your arms around his neck and your legs around his torso, Chifuyu stood up and resumed walking
" You know... C/n is gonna flip when she sees us like this" you mumbled
" Probably, but compared to her you actually can't move anymore." The boy let out an exaggerated sigh " I mean did you see how quickly she got back on her feet...Injured my ass yeah"
Chuckling you rested your head on his shoulder " Besides..."
Chifuyu turned his head slightly to meet your eyes " I will always prioritize people who are most dear to me above anyone else " he grinned
