chapter 41:brawl

the days went by in a flash and the previous day it was heeseungs birthday, minji had sent him a gift voucher so that he could take anything he wanted without ranting later 

semi had wished him the very minute it struck 12 midnight 

it was the 16th, match day 

the matchday

jake was more nervous than the whole team, he didn't know if they would be able to do good 

"hey jake they'll do good, they are my team" Jae spoke smiling at him while sitting on the front seat of his car 

he sighed and looked at his hands "I'm scared that they'll blame me for being their coach and not being able to make them reach the top" 

she took his hand in hers and held it tightly "you're the best, even before I felt that I had feelings for you I knew it that you were harsh for us to be good and besides that's how you really are so it didn't matter, but you melted slowly you did and you've made good progress and I love that" she looked into his eyes and smiled "you're the best baby" she moves ahead and gave him smooches on his cheeks 

he giggled in tiny and smiled at her "alright but I hope we get to play the next match soon with you" now it was his chance to give her smooches on her cheek 

"lets go" 

he exited his car and proceeded to help her out, today's match was in their university so they didn't have to go anywhere, he carried her bags along with his and closed the door behind her and locked the car 

"careful" he reminded her and walked behind her as she stepped ahead with her crutches  

"WELCOME TO THE QUATER FINALS OF THIS SEASON WE ARE YOUR COMMENTATORS FOR TODAY, WE HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THE GAME. THE GAME WILL BEGIN SHORTLY. THANK YOU" 

Jae was sitting on the benches right outside the field where the substitutes sit, jake wanted her to sit there and not on the bleachers so she didn't argue and just sat beside them, they were happy to see their captain back well not playing but at least she was on the field 

"Jae I'm sorry that happened to you" one of the girls who had fallen on her apologized 

Jae shifted her eyes to the girl "oh no it's not your fault it's just the timing don't worry at least I'm getting the rest I needed" 

"But you might be in pain right"

"I'm strong" Jae smiled and showed her non-existent bicep making the others laugh too 

"wow you changed Jae I thought you were the rude one haha" one of them commented making her ears go slightly red because of the compliment and the possible reason behind it 

"I guess it's changed for the better? haha" she added and laughed a bit 

she was a whole new person, a better one not the rotten Jae who was bitter from the inside but now she was calmer and warmer with the others, maybe she just liked being adored and getting the attention that she had never asked for from her parents but now another person had just fulfilled it 

we all have a different side, don't we? 

the team players were now coming out of the changing room and had assembled on the field, jake came out too and he was standing just outside the field and a few steps ahead of her, Jae saw minji semi and iseul and gave them a thumbs-up and wished them luck  

soon the game started and cheers from the stadium were heard everywhere, it was a Saturday so many of the students came for the match 

the first 30 minutes both of the teams were playing defence not until the other team started to attack now, their striker had the ball and she was just about to hit it in the net but sera blocked it skillfully and passed it on to one of the players of kwonggan
