~ Lily ~

Andrea stares at me with shock on her face before glancing at the groaning man on the ground. Her mouth is slightly parted and she looks as if she's about to panic now that she realizes she's stabbed a man.

"It's okay." I place my hands on her shoulders and give them a light squeeze. "You won't get in trouble. I'll take care of this."

Confusion flashes across her face and she looks at me before saying, "I'm not scared of getting in trouble. It was self-defense. I just thought that you were going to freak out or something."

I open my mouth to speak but surprisingly, no words come out. Most people in her position would panic yet she seems so calm... almost as if this is normal for her. Is it? Does Andrea have her own little secrets that I don't know about?

"Why would I freak out?" I decide to question her last sentence.

She shrugs her shoulder, "Because I just stabbed a man."

A moment of silence passes between us and I blink at her, "Exactly... you stabbed a man. I would think you'd be panicking and afraid of the cops coming."

Andrea scrunches up her face as a little laugh escapes her mouth, "I don't care if they come. Even if they did try to arrest me for stabbing him, I'll just call my mom. She'll definitely raise hell on them."

The man tries to stand up but ends up falling back down with a pained groan. I look at Andrea who's frowning as she glances at the man.

Looking back, I see Mark standing at the end of the alleyway and I turn back to face Andrea again, "Come on. I'll give you a ride home."

Her eyes snap to me and she hesitates for a moment before sighing and nodding her head, "Thanks. I don't want to get home too late."

I walk her to the car and wait for her to get settled in before walking over to Mark, "Can you call someone to deal with him?"

"Of course, Miss Lily." He nods, already pulling his phone out of his pocket to make the call.

While he's doing that, I go into the car with Andrea and ask, "What were you doing out here at this time by yourself?"

"I went to the store to get a few things for dinner but I forgot the damn money at the house so I was going back. Then that pervert started following me." She looks out the window and narrows her eyes toward the alley where the man is bleeding out. "He can stay there and die."

I raise an eyebrow at her nonchalant tone and when she notices me staring at her, she shrugs her shoulder while asking, "Why do you keep looking at me like that?"

Maybe because you stabbed a man and suggested he stay there and die like it's just another day for you? For me, it actually is just another day but I'd never expect this from Andrea. She's just a normal girl with a normal life. Something I always wanted for myself.

How can she be so calm about this?

Just then, Mark gets in the driver's seat and buckles up, "Where would you like me to go next, Miss Lily?"

I look at Andrea and she tells him her address before he types it into the GPS and drives away. She then looks at me with furrowed brows and leans in close to whisper, "Who's that?"
