Maya's POV
I was finishing some paperwork as I heard a familiar voice downstairs and I opened my door and looked downstairs over the stairs
"Here he is!" Cheered Andy as she wrapped her arms round Matt "stop growing!" She laughed as I walked downstairs
"Hi my love" I smiled as I placed a kiss on his cheek
"Hey mom" he smiled as he took off his bag and handed me a file with his papers to start off his trial at the station
"Did you sign them honey?" I asked as I opened the file and he nodded "okay great. I'll send them"
We all walked over to the beanery and sat down
"So when are you starting?" Asked Jake as he sat down next to Matt
"Next week?" He asked as he looked at me and I nodded
"Thanks god, we're needing more men here at the station" mocked Dean
"Shut it Gibson" said Vic and Jack laughed
"Yeah we could be 100 but this three would always rule" he laughed and Andy nodded
"Noted? Bishop junior?" She asked and Matt laughed
"I was born and grew up in a house of 3 women Andy. Noted" he laughed and Jack patted his back
"I should have kidnapped you when I had the chance" said Jack "sorry about it men"
"Shut it Gibson" I laughed
Carina's POV
"Hi my love" I said over the phone
"Hey" said Maya as she picked up the phone "I'm here with Matt. Signing his acceptance papers" she said
"Aww. I'm dying to see you both working together" I said only picturing both of them dressed up
"Jealous?" She asked
"No. Cause I'm a grownup" I laughed "I'm picking up Soph from school and we'll head home" I said
"Okay, Matt's got the physical training exam for the academy and guessing then he'll head home and I'll head over some hours later" she said
"Great. Love you Bella" I said as I hanged the phone
I finished signing some discharge paperwork and handed it over to Jo so I could finish off my day. And pick up Soph
"Hey Bella" I smiled as she hopped into the car
"How did your day go?"
"Hey mama" she said not picking up the look from her phone
"Hello in there" I smiled as I tapped her nose
"Yeah what?" She said looking at me
"I asked a question" I said "what's so important in that phone" I asked as I started the car
"Just, nothing" she said looking at me "I'm alright" she said and we headed home
"Can I go to a party?" She asked as I unlocked the door and we walked inside
"When?" I asked as I put down my bag
"Tonight" she said turning to me
I laughed and said "it's Monday"
"I know. But please, I need to go" she pleaded
"You need to go?" I asked sarcastically "one, it's Monday so no chance. And second, I'd need to discuss it with mom" I said
"Mom's gonna say no!" She said as she sat down on the couch
"Well so am I" I said walking over to the living room
"You'd let Matt go for sure" she said and I walked over to the couch where she was sitting down
"Matt is 18. He is a grownup" I said "you, young Bellina, are just a girl" I said kissing her head
"Mamma stop" she said pushing me away and I sat down next to her
"Bella what's going on?" I asked as I looked at her and she picked up her phone again
"Nothing is going on" She said with an annoyed tone
"You don't sound like nothing is going on" I said
"There's nothing going on" she said and before I could say another word the door opened and Matt walked in
"Hey" he smiled as he closed the door behind him
"Hey bambino" I smiled and got up to hug him "how did the training go?" I asked
"Hey mama. Mom said she'll be late, she's got a meeting" he said walking into the kitchen and I walked after him "and it was not nice" he said "at all"
"You hungry?" I smiled as I saw him searching the fridge
"Starving" he smiled as he looked at me and I nodded getting up
"Only cause you're my beautiful baby boy" I said hugging him tightly as he sat down on the counter watching me cook
Maya's POV
I unlocked the front door and walked into the living room to find Matt laying down on the couch and Carina on her laptop in an armed chair.
"Hey my love" I said as I pecked Carina's lips and walked over the couch where Matt was laying down
"Hey there" I said stroking his hair and he opened his eyes
"Oh hey" he said opening his eyes and cracking his neck
"Matt stop!" Said Carina from the couch making us chuckle "I mean it" she said
"How did the training go?" I asked as I sat down next to him "Chief said it was hard" I smiled and he nodded
"It was" He said "hard indeed" laying back down on the couch
"Welcome to the game baby" I said kissing his cheek and getting up "go rest" I said as I walked over to the kitchen and he got up heading upstairs to his room
"My favorite time of the day" I smiled as I walked over to Carina who was cooking and I placed my arms round her waist
"I missed you" she said as she turned around and kissed my neck
"Oh did you?" I smiled as I kissed her deeply
"Yeah. Just picturing you two working together at the station made me fall in love with you all over again" she said smiling
"I fall in love with you again every single morning" I said as I placed a kiss and sat down on the counter "boy I'm exhausted" I said as Carina came over and sat next to me and began to massage my neck
"Oh boy that's good" I said resting my head on my hands
"You should sleep" she smiled kissing my head
"It's okay. Just, Monday's are hard" I said "I'll go check on Sophie and then I'll wait for you upstairs" I winked and Carina stood up
"You should, I mean. Check on Soph" she said and I looked at her with a concerned look
"Something going on?" I asked
"Not sure. She's just being weird. I think there is definitely something up with her" she said and I nodded heading upstairs
"I'll wait for you" I said as I turned around to see her smiling
