Part 4

Maya's POV

"Hey honey" I said as I picked up the phone

"Hey" She said "Matt already with you?" She asked

"Yeah, just waiting for his first call" I said smiling

"Ohh true. It's today" she said

"First of many calls" I said

"Please. Be careful I..." she began

"Carina.." I said "Carina he'll be with me the whole time. We'll be alright" I said

"I know I know. Just you know..." she began

"We'll be back home for dinner Car. Both of us" I said trying to calm her down

Before I could speak again the sirens began to sound loudly and I hanged the phone rushing downstairs

"Come on 19!" I yelled and all of them rushed

"Matt stay close to me" said Andy as Matt followed her closely as they all got dressed up in their equipments

"Matt" I said as I saw him jumping into the truck driven by Dean

"I won't separate from Andy" he nodded firmly as I hopped into the other truck and rushed to the scene

Carina's POV
"You alright?" Laughed Meredith as I walked into the lounge

"Yeah. Just, Matt's first call with the team. I'm just a bit nervous" I said looking at her

"Isn't he with Maya?" She asked and I nodded

"Carina he's with Maya. He is safe" she said stroking my shoulder "he couldn't be in better hands" she said making me feel better

It was true. He couldn't have been in better hands. He was with Maya and he couldn't be in better hands. It was just, he was my baby. Even tho he was huge and a grownup

Andy's POV

"Nicely done Bishop!" I said as Matt extinguished a flame "nice nice."

"Where we going now?" He asked as he walked back to me

"We're done here" I smiled "nice call"

Both of us walked back downstairs and out of the house where the whole station was waiting for us

"There he is!" Yelled Gibson as Matt took off his mask and he hugged him tightly followed be all the rest

"You okay cap?" I asked as I got close to her

She laughed and hugged me tightly as I took off my mask "I just can't believe it!" She said as Matt walked over

"How did it go Cap?" He smiled and Maya clanged up to his neck

"You did great" I smiled

"You did my love" I said pecking his cheek

"Cap go celebrate home" I winked "we'll take back the trucks and I'll talk to the following team" I said

"Thanks Andy. We'll wait for you at home" she said and I nodded

Carina's POV

"So test went okay?" I asked as I laid the table together with Soph

"Yeah I mean. As good as it could have gone" she smiled

"When will you get the results?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders

"A week or two I guess" she said and I nodded. As I was turning back to the kitchen the door opened and Maya and Matt walked in

"Hey we're back!" Said Maya as she opened the door

"Here you are!" I yelled as I rushed over to them "aw you already smell like smoke just like mom" I laughed as I hugged him

"First call went amazing" said Maya as she walked over to hug Sophie

"I'll go get showered" said Matt as he jogged upstairs

"Is be okay?" Asked Carina and I nodded

"It's just, the shock of the first fire." I said "seeing what people have lost in that fire. Happened to all of us" I said and Carina hugged me

"Glad he was with you" she said

"Always" I said smiling at her

Matt's POV

Before getting into the shower I looked at my phone after it buzzed

Stop ignoring me. Be a man and show up.- Lane Bishop

I locked my phone and turned on the water thinking about everything. My grandfather had been trying to localize me for days now. Calling me, texting me. Honestly I was kind of scared he'd show up here at our house.

Mom had always told us about him. And why we didn't ever got to meet him. I understood the kind of men he was, I just never wondered how far he could go.

"Matt?" I heard after a knock on my door

"Yeah?" I asked zooming out of my mind

"You okay?" Asked mama. Seems I lost track of time inside the shower.

I got out of my bathroom with my towel wrapped round my waist and saw her in my room as I opened the door

"Sorry. Lost track of time, I was getting shaved" I lied and she kissed my cheek

"Okay bambino. Dinner is ready" she said and I nodded as she walked out of my room and I laid down on my bed

Thinking weather I should let my mom know about it. Letting her know would make her worry out of her mind. But I had no clue what could happen if I didn't

Maya's POV

"How did the test go?" I asked Soph as I sat down next to her

"Think pretty well" she said as she turned to me

"See" I smiled "feeling better than this morning now?" I teased and she smiled as she got closer and cuddled up to me

"Yeah fine you were right" she said and I kissed her head

"When am I not?" I smiled and she laughed as Carina came downstairs

"When's be coming downstairs. I'm starving" said Soph and Carina chuckled

"Seems lost track of time in the shower" she said laughing "he'll be here in seconds" she said and I nodded as I got up to help Carina with dinner

"Matt?" I asked as he was sitting down on the couch after dinner not saying a word through the whole time

"Sorry yeah" he said turning to me

"Are you alright?" I asked in a low voice as I noticed a lost look on his face

"Yeah. I'm, I'm fine" he said as he pulled up a definitely false smile

"You're way too serious" said Carina as she sat down next to me

"Just tired" he said as he got up placing a kiss on both our heads "I'll crash in. Love you" he said as he walked upstairs

"Is this still about the first shock from a fire?" Carina asked looking at me as she cuddled up to my chest

"I don't think so" I said watching him going upstairs knowing something was bothering him
