Okayyy so there seem to have been confusions about how apparently Bruno and Y/n being in love would be 'incest' and how they are 'step-cousins'. Well Um haha no.They aren't related nor step-cousins because Maria wasn't adopted nor blood related.
Hernando(the father of Abuela Alma) didn't adopt Maria but took her in.Like he didn't adopt Maria.He only treated Maria like his own child.Same with Abuela Alma.They all treated Maria as family.But they weren't actually family.And well as you found out in the chapter the meeting(I think),they had gone separate ways and well now they struggle.
But yea this was just to clear it up.I apologise for the misunderstanding.I probably just put it into words that I understood differently than others.Soooo yea.
