"You're quieter than usual tonight" noticed Sunoo.

He pressed his hand on Niki's arm, smiling at him.

"Is everything okay?" asked Sunoo.
"Yes, of course" replied Niki. "Just concentrated on the cooking."

Actually, Niki wasn't that okay.
He had decided to treat Sunoo a nice diner that night, that's why he was so meticulous with the cooking. He wanted everything to be perfect for the night, which unfortunately stressed him.

He had watched his father cook ramen many times, but he had never truly paid attention to the steps. Thankfully, he had found all the information he needed on the internet.

"Can I know what's in this?" asked Sunoo, who had just tried the soup.

Damn.. I must have missed something
Why didn't I make taiyaki? I know how to make it by heart...

"It's the best ramen soup I've ever tried" continued Sunoo, unconscious of Niki's short heart attack.
"Sorry Sunshine, it's a family secret! But I promise to make it whenever you want" replied Niki, smiling.

Wait.
Did I just call him Sunshine????

Sunoo didn't seem bothered by the nickname. He did however pout because Niki wouldn't share the recipe.

Soon enough, Niki had added the noodles, the eggs, the meat, the mushrooms and finally the nori. Sunoo watched the maknae cook carefully, not hiding his impatience.

"It looks so delicious Niki!" he said admiring the two bowls Niki had just finished preparing. "Thank you."
"You're welcome Sunoo" replied Niki, grateful.

There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, you know

They sat down and began their meal. The first few minutes were spent in silence, mainly because Sunoo was focused on his food and Niki kept admiring him.

"This is truly amazing" commented Sunoo. "Wait, haven't you started eating?"
"Of course I did" replied Niki, shoving noodles in his mouth.

He's right, it is pretty good

"So how was your day?" asked Sunoo.
"You know" replied Niki, remembering all the "Sunsun" videos he had seen. "Spent time on my phone and then I talked to Jungwon a lot."

"Oh really? What did you guys talk about?" asked Sunoo, curious as always. "He's up to something these days, I'm sure of it, but he doesn't want to tell me. Maybe he doesn't trust I'll keep my mouth shut? I can keep a secret you know! You guys all think I'm a drama queen, but that's not true."

He paused to catch his breath.

"Sorry, I spoke too much" Sunoo added. "Please go on."
"Well to be honest, I don't know if I can tell you, it was private stuff" answered Niki awkwardly. "I'm sorry."

"No, don't be sorry Niki" replied Sunoo, smiling to hide his deception.

"You still want to know right?" asked Niki, just loving Sunoo trying not to pout.
"Of course" said Sunoo. "If anything, you made it even more interesting."

Niki smiled. Still, he couldn't tell Sunoo. He wanted to though. It would have been a perfect introduction to his confession on top of it.

He thought he was ready to tell Sunoo how he felt about him, he spent the entire afternoon preparing for it. However, now that it was time, now that he had to do it, well it scared him.

No.

It terrified him.

What if Sunoo said no?
What if he liked Sunghoon?
