"What brings another vampire here?" asked Jake, a curious look on his face.
Huh, I don't know, what brings anyone somewhere?
Heeseung was annoyed. Everything annoyed him lately. Even more so when he had enjoyed the prospect of having a few quiet days before returning to Korea. Now, there was someone here. Worst. It was a vampire as well. A little scaring wouldn't be enough to make him ho away.
"Look, I just want to be alone, if you don't mind?" said Heeseung, quite placid.
He felt like he needed to be straightforward if he wanted this guy to leave.
"But, I haven't met a fellow vampire in so long" replied Jake, sincerely looking sad.
For a second, Heeseung felt a pinch in his heart.
I gone too soft. Why would I pity him?
Vampires live alone, that's how it goes, deal with it."I get it, though" added Jake. "I'll let you be."
He hadn't done anything special. He just seemed so disappointed as he turned around. His bubbly presence and his beautiful smile were gone.
Wait. Did I really think "beautiful" smile?
That last thought sent a shiver down Heeseung's spine. He didn't do sentimental. He didn't do charity. He didn't do feelings.
Jake was almost at the door when Heeseung saw himself stepping forward.
"Wait" he said, already hating himself for having said that.
Jake turned around a graceful frown on his eyebrows. Even then, he looked gorgeous.
No. Not gorgeous. Just regular vampire attractive. That's all.
Jake didn't say anything, he silently questioned Heeseung though.
"Let's talk a bit" said Heeseung. "But then, you leave."
"That works" replied Jake, smile and positivity back on as if he hadn't been sad a second ago.How is he so happy?
~
The two vampires were in Heeseung's room, which mostly consisted in a sofa he had found, books and some clothes on a chair.
"So, you're from Korea as well?" asked Jake.
"Yes" replied Heeseung.
"This is great! I don't meet other vampires often, even less Korean ones. Why did you come to Europe?" continued the visitor.Does he spot talking?
"You know, boredom" answered Heeseung. "You?"
"I wanted to see the world" explained Jake.
"You must be young aren't you?" asked Heeseung. "Trust me it all gets old after a while."
"Well, I don't know. I guess 40 is young" mumbled Jake.
"Since you've been turned?" asked Heeseung, curious.
"Huhum" confirmed Jake, looking at Heeseung's books.
"That explains it" said Heeseung."How old are you then?" asked Jake, looking right into Heeseung's soul.
"I'm 50 actually" replied Heeseung.
"Oh so you're really giving me the old people speech when you're only a decade older than me?" said Jake laughing. His voice was clear, joyful and mostly so enjoyable to hear.
No.
His brain didn't want to, however Heeseung felt his lips breaking into a smile. Jake's joy was contagious.
"I guess" he replied, suddenly seeing how funny it was.
"I hope I'm not as bored as you in ten years" added Jake.
"Don't you talk like that about me" warned Heeseung, with a gentle voice however.~
Time is relative, even more so when you're a vampire. They kept on talking, not noticing the moon slowly disappearing into the daylight.
"Oh, and is he here?" asked Jake, fascinated. "I've never met a werewolf before!"
Heeseung had just told his visitor about how Jay and him had met, a few months before.
"Well, he must be in the city" replied Heeseung. "We're supposed to meet in 5 days here."
"And what's next?" asked Jake, eager to hear more adventure stories.
"We're going back to Korea" explained Heeseung."Oh I see" said Jake.
Something in his eyes had changed. His smile had faded a bit.
This sight saddened Heeseung. Even though he had met Jake only a few minutes-Wait. For how long have we been talking?
Finally, Heeseung looked outside, and he heard bells ringing in the nearby city.
"Have we been talking for the whole night?" he murmured, in shock.
He couldn't believe it. He never spent time with strangers. The fact that he had become friends with Jay was a literal miracle. Now he was talking to someone new as well?
How come I didn't even notice time passing by? He was supposed to stay just a little and then leave.
What is happening?"I guess you're right" confirmed Jake, standing up.
He walked towards the window. His shoulders moved up and down, as if he had just taken a deep breath."I guess I should be going then" he said, looking outside.
Yes.
That's what we agreed on.Then why don't I want him to go?
He's nothing like me. He's not calm. Why should I want him here with me? To disturb my peace?
Heeseung looked up, trying to behold the maximum of details about Jake he could.
His messy yet luxurious hair;
His sparkly and gentle eyes;
His gorgeous and illegal lips;It was too late. Heeseung was trapped in this sight. Jake was definitely the most handsome creature he had ever seen.
As to confirm what he was feeling, he felt his two fangs growing longer. There was something he wanted, right now.
Something he craved more than anything. It wasn't rational.
It wasn't smart to do either. But he really wanted to see how it would feel.
He really wanted to feel Jake's neck skin cracking under his fangs.
And he really wanted to hear Jake's sigh of pleasure as soon as it happened.
