Chapter 11: The Difference Between a Bad Boy and a Toxic Bastard
Author's Note: What's your favorite clothes/ensemble among the brothers? I don't know if y'all noticed, but I'm a total sl*t for costume and hair lololol Levi's and Mammon's demon forms are the coolest imo, with Asmo and Satan's at the bottom of my list. Mammon's and Beel's casual attires are my favorite. OH, and SPOILER ALERT in the post note.
Coming to school was an event of epic proportions.
You were already infamous as the resident class-cutting, infuriatingly gorgeous delinquent, but with your hair swept back and dyed an unnatural blue, girls and boys had to do a double take when you and your sister walked down the hall.
The attention wasn't only on you, of course.
Maya, who was once known as the cute new girl, had risen the ranks for her high grades and athleticism gained from under your tutelage. Although she was meek as a mouse around her mother, she was a force of nature in school. Some people admired her indifferent confidence, others were jealous.
Either way, you were a pair that cannot be ignored. Especially today.
This attention extended during lunch time, though to be honest, you stopped caring about it as you leaned into your palm and watched Leviathan do everything to avoid your eyes. This was your first contact with him since his slip up from the night before.
Maya was seated next to you, hair pulled back with the blue headband you gave her as she read her essay on Romeo and Juliet.
"... 'So in conclusion, Juliet choosing Romeo illustrates her inner strength and desire to become independent. This strength is mirrored in the method she chooses to die, not with a quick-acting poison, but with a dagger driven to her chest.'" Once finished, she peeked at you expectantly.
You took the papers from her. "Overall, your message was excellently presented, but your introduction was a little weak. Don't start your essays with a question. Oh, and you can't just switch from second person to third person so abruptly. Also..."
Maya fiercely jotted your criticisms in her coral notebook with the words "Big Brother Observation Diary No. 7" written in glitter on the cover. (You'd rather not ask what other things were written there.)
"That's enough studying for now." You slipped the essay back in its two-inch thick pink binder.
You turned to Levi, who had glued his gaze onto the cafeteria ceiling.
"So, Levi—"
"Eeep!"
"I'm curious, did you perhaps drink during dinner last night?"
"N-no."
"In that case, is there anything you want to say to me?"
"...no."
"You see, I received a very interesting call. It was so unpredictable that I almost thought it was a dream."
"I-is that so..."
"Did something happen? Did you have a nightmare?" Maya asked as she unpacked the pork cutlet rice bowl you two made this morning.
"Oh, something happened all right. But... " You waved your phone in the air. "It wasn't a nightmare or a dream."
Levi slammed his hands on the table and Maya scolded him for almost knocking the milk teas over.
You ignored their reactions and placed the phone to your lips. "My family is prone to litigious problems so I make a point to record my phone calls. All of them."
