Chapter One: The Party's Back

"Thanks for picking me up, Vinny," I said as I buckled my seat belt.

Vinny and I are on our way to Jenni's house to decorate our cars to celebrate Mike's sobriety anniversary.

"You're welcome, and by the way, you look amazing today," Vinny said.

"Thank you, and you look handsome," I said.

Vinny smiled.

"Stop," Vinny said.

It only takes us ten minutes to pull up to Jenni's driveway. Seen sticks a middle finger at Vinny, and Vinny sticks one right back at her while I laugh. We park then get out of the car. I walk up to Jenni and hug her, then Deena walks up to me and hugs me.

"All right, let's get this shit over with," Vinny said.

"Oh my God, grumpy," Jenni said.

Vinny smiles.

"Oh my God, you are the worst," Deena said to Vinny.

"Let's start decorating," I said as Vinny starts decorating his car with balloons.

"Make a sign and write happy soberversary, Gigi!" Vinny yells at me.

"I'm doing it already," I said as I make signs for Vinny and me.

Vinny grabs one of the finished signs from me and tells Deena to hold up her sign, "Yo D hold your sign and hold my sign. You see anything different?"Vinny asked.

"Did I spell it wrong?" Deena asked, looking at the signs.

I laugh.

"Oh, I spelled it with an A instead of..." Deena mumbles.

Vinny laughs.

Jenni and Vinny read out aloud Deena's sign.

"Sober-ves-arey," Jenni and Vinny both says.

Everyone laughs.

"Happy Sober-ves-arey," Vinny says.

Almost forty minutes later, We pull up to Mike's driveway, honking the cars to get Mike and Lauren to come outside.

"Mike!" Vinny screams.

Lauren opens the door and records from her phone as Mike comes, shocked to see us.

We park the cars and get out with our signs.

"Happy Soberversary, Mike!" Everyone exclaims.

Everyone is cheering and honking their horns as Mike and Lauren walk down the driveway towards us.

Mike runs over to me, and I hug him.

"Happy five years of sobriety, Mike," I said to him.

"Thank you," He says.

Then he goes and greets everyone else. We all gather together to take a picture when an over-decorated car pulls up, honking at us.

"What's happening?" Someone asks.

"Who is that?" Lauren asked.

I scream once I realize who's in the car.

"Is that a petting zoo?" Vinny asked.

"Wow," Deena says.

"Nicole!" I scream.

Everyone starts screaming.

Jenni walks over to the car as Nicole gets out and hugs her.

"Hi!" Nicole squeals as she hugs Jenni.
