i don't remember much of the morning i left. i was a crying mess. Billie drove me to the airport and i swear it was the hardest goodbye i've said in my whole life. people were giving me weird looks because i was literally sobbing during the whole flight but i didn't care. i was flying across the country and leaving my girlfriend behind. she's the only one i have. leaving her hurt me.

when i arrived at the airport i took a taxi to my new apartment. i couldn't help but be stunned when i stepped outside the car. i was in fucking New York city.

i wanted to stay and admire the view a little more but i suppose the driver was in a rush because after i paid him he just dropped my luggage on the side of the road and drove off.

i saw a young woman, probably around her 20's waiting outside the apartment block. she had dark black hair and was dressed in gothic style. a ton of chains covered her neck and she had these black below-the-knee demonians. Billie has them too.

"you must be Skylar Carter, right?" she asked me as i walked to the door

"you must be Skylar Carter, right?" she asked me as i walked to the door.

"uh yeah, that's me. and you are?"

"sorry, let me introduce myself" she answered. "i am Louisiana Martinez but you can call me Lou. my dad is the owner of the company that hired you and he sent me to show you the apartment and give you the keys".

"nice to meet you Lou!".

"nice to meet you too Skylar" she told me as she unlocked the door and gestured to me to follow her.

"so your apartment is on the fifth floor and it's actually next to mine. you see my dad owns the whole floor so most of it is just family members".

she was really cool and i wish i could give her more of myself but at that moment all i could think about was Billie. i really wanted her there with me. i couldn't help but imagine how it would feel if this was our apartment and we were moving in. i know i already live with her anyway but wouldn't it be so cool to actually buy a house together?

"so you're from LA, aren't you?" she asked.

"yeah, both of my parents are from LA and i grew up there too. my parents told me we moved in Utah for a year but i don't remember a thing because i was like two or something".

"that's cool. i've been in New York my entire life but the good thing is i do travel a lot".

"really? that's dope. where have you travelled Lou?" i asked now actually interested into having a conversation.

"well i've been to a couple greek islands, italy, denmark, iceland and the netherlands. i also went to exchange year in france".

"oh my God i'm jealous of you Lou, that's fucking cool. so, how old are you anyway?".

"i'm turning 20 next month. daddy told me you're 18, right?"

"yeah i turned 18 this year" i replied.

when we finally reached the fifth floor she took a bunch of keys out of her pocket and walked over a door down the hallway. she tried a couple keys till she found the right one and unlocked the door.

my jaw dropped to the floor at the view of my new apartment. it only had the basic furniture but it was really nice. the living room had a corner couch, an armchair and a tv on a small wooden tv table. the kitchen wasn't separated with the living room but it was so beautiful, i didn't mind. the cupboards were green and i just couldn't believe how lucky i was to get a fucking green kitchen. this may sound stupid but it really was a dream coming true. a fucking. green. kitchen.

the bathroom was kind of small but good enough for just one person. my room had a queen sized bed but what made is absolutely awesome was the view. the windows were huge and you could see the typical NYC view which felt so common yet surreal at the same time.

i went back to the living room where Lou was and thanked her. before she left she gave me the keys and a little paper with her number and told me to ring her if i need help with anything.

"i know you don't have anyone here so if you need help to settle down or even just someone to hang out with, i'm just one phone call away".

after i walked her out the door i sat on the gray armchair of the living room and take a minute to look at my surroundings. it's crazy how life can change so fast. one day i was at home getting ready for a concert, then i started dating one of the most famous celebrities and now i just left her to go work at New York.

my phone ringing interrupted my train of thoughts. it was Billie.

"hey baby" she shouted as i picked up the phone.

"hello bil" i said with the same excitement. i was so happy to hear her soothing voice.

"how was your flight? how's the house? please show me i wanna know everything. you met any neighbours yet? do you have a dope ass view?" she questioned in one breath.

we talked on the phone for many hours and i explained everything and gave her a house tour. for some reason i didn't really get into details about Lou.
