Part 6. Yakuza Deals

"Neela hey. What happened." I ask

"Its Takashi. Hes coming." She says crying

I'm confused. I look over to Han mouth the word shit. Hes doing something behind my back.

Ill talk with him soon. He looks at me and I give him a knowing look. He looks away. I turn back to a crying Neela.

"Ok um. Its ok. Hes not here yet. You're safe here. Go sit with Reiko. Twinkie go get her some water." I say

Neela goes after to Rekio and they sit down. Twinkie runs off to get water. I point at Sean.

"You. Come here I need to talk to you." I say to Sean

He looks scared now. He walks over to me and I go to walk up stairs with him. Han looks up at me.

"Odessa get back down here what are you doing." Han says up to me

I look over at him.

"Shut your mouth. Ill deal with you in a minute." I say to him

"Sean what did I tell you. I told you to stay away from Neela. You don't know what you're getting yourself into." I say to him

"When and what happened last with you two." I add

"I know what you told me I'm sorry. After you dragged her away to her boyfriend she called me and came over to my apartment in distress. We hung out for the day." He explains

I put my hands over my face and groan.

"Jesus Christ I told you to do one thing. ONE THING." I yell at the end.

Sean looks back down stairs and back to me. Everyone is probably looking at us now but I don't care. I told him to do one easy thing. I tell Sean to go back down. I yell at Han to get his ass in the bedroom so we can talk. I hop down from the balcony. No time for stairs. I walk into the bedroom and see him standing there. I slam the door and lock it.

"Hey Han. Sorry. Quick question. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHY IS THE MONEY SO LOW. AND WHY ARE ALL OF YOUR SHIPMENTS LATE." I yell at him

"I've been stealing money from Takashi." He admits

My face drops.

"You've been doing what." I say

"That's why my shipments are late and why money isn't as high anymore. I think hes starting to notice." He says

I cant believe what I'm hearing.

"Han why didn't you tell me." I ask

"Because I didn't want you to be mad. Because I didn't want you to think less of me. I thought it was going to be ok and that they wouldn't notice and I could keep everything on track. But dates and transactions aren't lining up properly anymore." Han explains

"He knows." I say

"Yeah. I think he does." He says with worry in his voice.

"So. Honestly Han I don't even know what to do. Its a matter of time before he shows up." I say

"I know D. I'm so sorry it turned out like this." He says

"I know you are. Han how long have we been in Tokyo?" I ask

"A few years. Why?" He says

"It should be clear you know. I honestly cant think of any other way we can survive this. If takashi knows you know he will probably kill us." I say

"Yeah I know. But its going to be ok. We can pack up and leave everything behind right now if you asked me to." He says

I smile. at him. I unlock the door and go out to everyone else.
