I Wonder If You Know - A Han Lue FF

Part 8. Last Day

I wake up and see everyone else downstairs. I rub my eyes and stand up. I sit up and realize I'm the only one up here. I hear every one down stairs. I stand up and attempt to make my way down. Before I can even touch the stairs I hear them talking.

"Sean are you sure you're ready?" Twinkie asks

"I'm not sure. But..I think it'll be ok." Sean replies

I walk down and speak up.

"You'll be fine Sean. If you cant do it don't think about it. Think like you can do it." I say

He nods

"Alright guys. Last day. What should we do." I say

Everyone's face drops realizing how close it is.

"Its up to you D" Suki says

"I want to hang out with all of you." I say

And that's exactly what we did.

Besides Sean.

He goes off to the mountain to do some extra practice after my ok. We talked, played poker a lot, ate breakfast lunch and dinner together. And I got a polaroid photo of all of us. I put it in my pocket and continue.

We chill all day and make each other laugh as much as we can. I know in my heart I am faking it though. I do cherish these moments. But I don't really feel happy. I don't feel much right now. I put on a smile as much as I can. It gets later and later. I cant not look at the clock. As the time goes by everyone's mood drops more and more. We all eat at a fancy place for dinner.

When were done we go back to the garage and Han finishes up the car as much as possible. I have to admit for how much time he was given it looks great. Twinkie checks the cameras one last time to make sure they were not tampered with. I go into me and Hans room and put on my outfit.

I get ready in silence before Han walks in.

"Hey.." He says quietly

"Hey." I say back

"I'm really. Really sorry Odessa." He says sadly

I look at him with guilt.

"Han. Don't be sorry. I made this choice. Itll be ok. If I make it. We'll spend the rest of our time together. We'll go back to our family. And maybe finally live with some peace for a few months." I say smiling at the end

"But what if you dont." He says deeply looking down.

For the first time ever. I see a tear come down his face. He wipes it away fast.

"Don't think like that." I say

"I can't help it Odessa. I love you more then anyone I've ever known. I just. I just can't imagine life without you." He says looking down.

I hug him as tight as possible and feel some tears on my top from him. After a few minutes he pulls away.

"You took the pictures." He says smiling slightly

"What pictures?" I ask

"The ones from my office." He says

"Oh those. Yeah I did." I say

He chuckles a little

"You know. Those are my favorite photos of us. May i have them back?" He asks nicely

"Fine. Only if we take a new one for me." I say

He smiles and runs to get the camera

By now I'm already done up and ready to go. As he gets the polaroid ready he tells me something.

"You look very pretty by the way." He says

"Thanks. I was hoping you would like it." I say at him

"I like anything you wear." He says

"You're to nice." I say

"I'm being honest. D you are truly one of the most beautiful girls I've ever met." He says smiling

"Han...sounds like you have a little crush on me." I tease

"Shut your mouth and come take this photo." He says sternly

I laugh and we walk out. Before we leave I take a good look at the room. Sadness comes over. I won't be able to see this room ever again. Or at least for a while. So many memories made. Happy, sad, painful. Han looks down at me and puts his arm around me.

"I'm really gonna miss this room." He says

"Yeah. Me too. Its time." I say

We look at each other before closing the door for the last time. We ask Suki to take a photo of us sitting on my favorite car. Hans black and orange Mazda.

She takes one for me of him kissing my cheek and me hugging him.

Then one he can keep. I laugh at Twinkie doing something funny as he looks over at me with love and sadness.

Perfect.

"Its time." Neela says sadly

My heart drops. Where did the time go.

I look over at everyone. It's pure sadness. Tears dripping down faces. We all group hug and get in our cars. We all take separate cars but me and Han. I decide I want possiblely my last moments to be with him.

We race down the road, drifting corners and having the time of our lives.

Any worry, anger, guilt, sadness is gone. We turn into a straight. I look over at Han for the ok. He nods his head and smiles. We both press the button together to release the NOS. The car speeds ahead throwing us back into our seats.

We spead down the road fast laughing our asses off.

Until we arrive at the mountain. Sean sits against his red EVO. Twinkie brings the car Han made up for him.

Takashi and his gang are all across.

"So just to be clear." A man from the gang speaks loudly to all of us.

"Sean and Takashi will race to the top of the mountain and back down. Who ever comes out first wins. If Takashi wins. We kill the girl. If he losses. Han and Odessa will leave the country immediately cutting all ties to Tokyo. Is that clear?" He finishes

I say yes.

I hug everyone has tightly as possible and say my goodbyes. Twinkie gets the cameras up for us to watch.

Sean and Takashi get in their cars and line up side by side. I decide to flag the race off.

I walk in front of both cars and stand there. I point to Takashi.

"Ready?" I ask

He revs his engine and smiles

I point to Sean

"Ready?" I ask

Sean does the same.

You better win this I say

I raise my hand up.
