Mirabel was nowhere to be found

Mirabel was nowhere to be found. You and Camilo were partnered together to search for her in the western part of Encanto. Julieta quickly paired you together, Dolores and Felix were sent to the East, Agustin and Julieta to the North.
Pepa stayed back in broken casita to take care of Antonio and aid Abuela.

"Mirabel? Mirabel?" Your screams echoed through the bushy forest. Camilo did the same. You both shouted the same name in hopes of a response, but to no avail.

You hiked up the steep mountain, and into the dark forest. It was sunny this afternoon but the bushy leaves forbid any sunlight to dawn through. You stepped on lots of overground roots and twigs. You look through every trunk and every branch in the hopes of finding Mirabel.

At one point, you mistakenly got too close to a beehive, the bees swarmed around you, the chase wasn't fun but it surely gave you more energy to speed up the mountain. The hike was really extreme, but you finally got out of the woods the view of the sunset served as your reward, though still no signs of Mirabel.

Camilo quickly got out of the forest and caught up to where you were, dusting off the several twigs and leaves that got caught up in his ruana. "I told you to back away from the beehive! You're lucky none of them stung you!"

"Why did you get stung?" You asked while turning your back on the sunset. "No but-"
"Then we don't have a problem!" You shrugged while subjecting your gaze back at the sky.

Camilo was now right beside you, with his arms folded. "You really never listen to me y/n, huh?" The boy smirked while tilting his head at you. "No, no I don't." You playfully shot back.

You hear him mutter something under his breath. "What was that?" You pushed. "Nothing."
He quickly answered back. You raised your eyebrow.

"You know that there's a completely slim to non chance that you can get to drop it so you might as well just tell me what you sa-"

"Fine!" Camilo rolled his eyes while facing you. "I said.. that that's what I like about you..okay?" He crossed his arms while shyly trying to hide his face using his hair that was luminously shining with orange hues thanks to the sunlight.

You let out a giggle at his reaction. He was always flirty with everyone, you barely ever got see him get flustered like this so naturally, you enjoyed every moment of it.

Through the the trees, you can get a good glimpse of Encanto, but it's signature liveliness and vividness it usually had didn't make an appearance today. The demolished casita looked like a small pile of gray dust from up here.

You look at the other mountains that safely protected the city. You then return your gaze to see the sun turning orange, the light it emits painted the sky with golden yellow and magnificent orange hues, the color of tangerines.

Back in Encanto, you were never able to see the sunset because of the mountains covering it. You never had the courage to go this far from town, so you were taking in the beautiful view in front of you, before the sun decided to take today's slumber.

You sat down on the mountain top. The sharp prick of the grass didn't really bother you. Camilo followed you, your arms in close contact with each other.

This simple contact made your heart pounce. You wanted to crush every single butterfly that reappeared in your stomach. Was he just being his flirty self, or did these moments you shared together with him mean as much to him the same way it meant to you?

He let out a long sigh before interrupting the chirping birds and the rustling leaves, "I never got this far from home before, abuela never allowed me to. This is the first time I've ever seen the sunset."

"Yeah, me neither, you don't think Mirabel has gone farther than here has she?" Camilo shook his head. "We should probably report back and tell them she isn't in the west huh?"

"Yeah but could we go after the sun sets? Pleasee?" You pleaded with doe eyes. Camilo jokingly rolled his and gave in to your request.

The pleasing sight caught you all up in your emotions. It gave you a melancholic sensation. It rolled inside you like bits of glasses in a kaleidoscope.  You didn't know whether to feel resentful, worried, sad or angry.

Your anger towards abuela has not fully resided, Mirabel being lost in nobody knows where made you want to tear up, and how you wished you done something to save casita, before it all crumbled down.

Camilo noticed your slight change of mood.
You hated how easily this boy could read you. You expected him to ask you if you're alright but instead..

"Hey, I know I thanked you for saving Mirabel, but I forgot thank you for standing up for my family, really thank you for doing that. Nobody had the guts to face Abuela like that. Ever."

"Of course, I love your family and I know you love them too, plus I couldn't stand the way abuela kept treating everyone, especially you." You trailed off while glancing at him.

He gazed at you with a glint of admiration. As if he never had anyone stand up for him like that before. He deeply appreciated what you did for him, he just doesn't know how to tell you. "You're really brave y/n, you're stubborn as hell, but you're brave." He lightheartedly joked.

You softly chuckled. "Yup, we're two peas in a pod."

You stared out savoring the beautiful view, gradually, the sky had glazes of purple and dark red. Your eyes were set on the horizon. You look at Camilo who's lips bear the resemblance of a smile.

You couldn't help but grin, the glimpse of his viridescent eyes reflecting the sunset in them made your heart melt. He then sensed you looking at him then stared back at you.

A smirk appeared on his face before he spoke. "You know, the sunset is really pretty, but...it's nothing compared to my view right now, princesa."

You look down at the grass tainted golden yellow from the sun, flushed from his unexpected comment that caught you way off guard, you tried to suppress a smile. You dodged his flirty comment. "Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?"

"I'm afraid I can't do that." He added on. Your chin was suddenly caught in between his grip, lifting your head up, again forcing you to look into those intense green eyes. Just like on the day you met him.

The atmosphere suddenly changed.

He then placed his hand on your cheek. His warm touch sent shivers down your spine. Heat rose from your stomach to your chest as his lips was getting closer to yours. And before you knew it, he planted a kiss on your lips. It was soft as a pillow against yours.

He pulled away, your eyes locked in understanding that you both were comfortable with this.

Your heart skipped a beat. The butterflies continued to dance in your stomach. You felt like time stopped as his lips landed on yours again, you wished it did.

Your hands were now tangled in his hair. His heart pounding out of his chest. It still wasn't clear to him whether he dreamed this moment to reality.

He kissed you and you kissed him. In front of the enchanting sunset. Your faces aglow with the last rays emitted before twilight beckons the stars.
