You were a happy little 5 year old, until you went to school. Yeah, you were small, but you were pretty small for your age.
You were a little in the chubby side to, but your parents knew that you'd grow out of it. You didn't think so.
At school you were picked on everyday. The kids would call you fat, or say you had some sort of birth defect that made you small.
Everyday at recess you'd bolt away from the group and hide behind the big oak tree. Everyday you'd do that, everyday for two years.
One day, about halfway through the school year, you heard a boy run over, he was crying.
He sat by you, crying, unaware that you were there. He had his eyes shut and he was curled up in a ball. You could faintly hear him begging for his mommy and daddy.
You set down your doll and moved over. "H-Hey? What's wrong?" You asked quietly.
He looked up at you and wiped his eyes. "I-I miss my m-mom and d-d-dad." He stuttered out, still unable to speak smoothly from his crying spell.
"Don't worry, at the end of the day you'll get to see them." You told him and he shook his head. You tilted your head in confusion. "Why not?"
"M-My mom and d-dad are d-dead." He said and started to cry.
Being the shy little girl you were you hesitantly hugged him, and felt horrible about bringing up his parents.
He accepted your hug and cried into your chest. "What's your name?" You asked him after he had calmed down.
"P-Peter." He told you and wiped his eyes.
"I'm Y/n." You told him as you lined up to go back inside.
The next day he met you at the tree, then the next, and the next, and the next, for years. In middle school he'd meet you at the tree after school. In high school it'd be the same. In college you two would go to the tree whenever you could.
You two had developed a crush on each other in middle school, you told each other while you were sitting in the tree. That's also where he asked you on your first real date, and where he first kissed you, where you asked him to prom as a junior, where he asked you to prom as a senior, and where he told you that he was Spider-Man.
Now here you were, it was exactly 20 years later and you were both 25. He pulled you close and smiled. "I love this tree." He murmured and kissed your head.
"I do to." You smiled and kissed his cheek, leaning into him. "Cmon, let's dance." You pulled him over to the tree and he smiled.
He put on your song and swayed with you. "I love you so much Y/n, since the day I met you back here I knew you'd be with me for a long time." He whispered and pressed his forehead to yours.
You just smiled and kissed him, a nice soft kiss. He pulled you close and held you in the kiss for a long time.
"Can I ask you something?" You both asked each other after you parted. You both chuckled and smiled. "Rock, paper, scissors?" You asked each other and nodded.
He won and smiled nervously. "Close your eyes, ok?" He whispered.
You nodded and closed your eyes. You heard rustling and then felt the familiar texture of his hands around yours. "Open." He told you.
You looked and saw that he was on one knee and you gasped quietly. "I know I tell you this at least 30 times a day, but I love you, so much. Ever since that day you comforted me after my parents died, right here, behind this oak tree, I knew I'd be with you for a long time. I never knew how long, but I want to set a time limit," he swallowed hard, extremely nervous, as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful ring, "forever? W-Will you, F/n, M/n, L/n, marry me?" (F/n = first name, M/n = middle name, if you don't have a middle name ignore that part, L/n = last name.)
You gasped and felt tears sting your eyes. You thought quickly and knew now would be the best time to tell him. "I'm pregnant." You say and looked down into his eyes.
He grins and scoops you up and kisses you hard. "I am taking that," he slips the ring in your finger, "as a yes." He kisses you again.
"Oh of course it is!" You say and hug each other. "I love you." You murmur.
"I love you, both of you." He smiled and pressed his hand against your stomach.
