You groaned as you tossed and turned in your bed. You couldn't sleep, and you were afraid of waking your boyfriend Luke, so, you got up slowly.
He didn't seem to notice but he did. He just assumed you were getting water or going to the bathroom. He didn't hear the shuffling from you moving things to get a pillow and a blanket.
You went down stairs and plopped the pillow down. You laid on the couch and kept trying to sleep, but you just couldn't.
After a while Luke got worried and stumbled out into the living room, where you were. He frowned and walked over. "Baby what's wrong?" He asked and reached for you.
You took his hand and he sat beside you. "I can't sleep. I didn't wanna wake you up so I came down here." You said, sitting up.
He sighed and pulled you close. "You should've woken me up, I'm always here for you." He smiled and helped you off the couch. "Cmon. Let's go back up to bed. I bet I know how to get you to sleep." He smiled.
You walked up stairs to your bed and laid down. Luke followed in behind and tossed the pillow and blanket by the closet before laying beside you.
He pulled you close and kissed your forehead. "This should help." He murmured and held you against his chest.
You laid your head on his chest and he hummed softly. You felt yourself getting lulled to sleep by his soft voice and calming heartbeat.
Once you were asleep he smiled and fell back to sleep himself. He held you like that all night, every night, just to make sure you slept well.
