Emilia: Ayanokouji... wake up.
My eyes opened up, seeing Subaru and Petra had already gotten out of the carriage.
Subaru: Damn you really can sleep through anything. I kept yelling at you to wake up, but it looks like it's only when Emilia-tan asks, that you actually wake up.
Me: Strange.
Emilia started giggling slightly, as the two of us exited the carriage.
Subaru: The good, old mansion.
Walking over to the back of the carriage, I grabbed Rem's body gently.
Subaru then looked rather grim, seeing the body of someone he thought he could of saved.
Me: This place is understandably a mess considering we had to evacuate everyone on such short notice. We'll need to hire someone else to help with the cleaning. I know Roswaal won't be too happy with a tarnished mansion.
Heading towards the mansion, I stopped and saw that Otto was still holding his position there.
Me: Otto, why don't you come inside? You don't really think we'd leave you out for the mabeasts and bandits?
Otto: Oh, right! I was just in my own thoughts! I'm going to negotiate a fair compensation from your lord, Roswaal-sama! And with it, I will be on my way to something much more peaceful.
Hearing the word peaceful, I smiled slightly.
Me: Peaceful? I see you are striving for something similar to myself, Otto.
Otto: Eh?
Me: We can talk more about it later. I'm interested in your view of a peaceful life.
Otto was surprised beyond belief.
Otto: But from what Subaru told me, I assumed you liked combat and risking your life, like a knight?
I sighed.
Me: You're the furthest from the truth. I merely am working towards my goals. Risking my life is akin to wagering for better opportunities. A person can complete their dreams without suffering. Otherwise, everyone would be rich, happy, and successful. Such a perfect world will never exist.
Catching up with Petra, Emilia and Subaru, they had already opened the door and entered inside. The door was a mess, as it broke apart almost instantly. The three fell to the ground as Otto held back his laughter.
Carefully bringing Rem inside, I attempted to find the lights as the three stood up again.
Otto: This place is a mess!
Subaru: Well, this place wouldn't even be standing if everyone hadn't evacuated the way they did. This is alot of work though. We should hire someone else to help us, like you said Ayanokouji-
???: Greetings.
Subaru: AHHHHH!!!
Appearing from the darkness feet away from Subaru, he yelped and fell to the ground, making space between himself and the anonymous person.
Finding the lights, I turned them on, revealing a blonde woman in maid clothing and serrated, white teeth.
Me: A maid?
