Kiyotaka released and exploded the swirling ball of mana, filling the whole city square with white light.
Citizens, Emilia, Subaru, Beatrice, and Sirius were blinded momentarily.
*WHISH*
Exiting the area of white light was a fast-moving projectile, Sirius. Wind magic firing like a cannon carried her up into the sky as Kiyotaka followed after her, flying up.
Sirius: Ahhhh! SUCH FRESH AIR!
Kiyotaka unsheathed his longsword and clashed with Sirius midair, who parried with her golden chains.
*CLANK*
*CLANK*
*CLANK*
*CLANK*
The sounds of his longsword and her chains parrying and clashing with one another filled the area.
Sirius started to get even more unpredictable, throwing her chains randomly around. Sometimes it landed on Kiyotaka's feet and other times above his head or towards his hands.
Anything he didn't immediately parry; he just dodged as his mobility in the sky was much better than Sirius'. However...
Kiyotaka: (Hm... seems like I'm moving slower than usual. Mana is fine, no injuries, and no connection to her authority that I can trace. And yet, it feels like I got a couple weights on my feet and arms. I can surmise this must be an inherent ability she possesses apart from her authority.)
Echidna: (Could be some gravity magic.)
Sirius' journey through the sky gave out as her body plummeted down to a rooftop.
*SWIPE*
Sirius: HM?!
Just when she was about to put her two feet on solid ground, Kiyotaka merely stole the distance between herself and the sky.
Kiyotaka: (The more time I keep you in the air...the less contact and effect you'll have on anyone around you. Whether I'm weighed down or not, I'm still faster than you.)
Sirius: You'll feel the proper connection that love brings even if I need to sear it into you nonbelievers!
Her golden chains immediately ignited in purple flames. She started to sporadically twist, spin, and turn each chain around so Kiyotaka couldn't abuse his close-combat prowess.
And as a result, an inferno of flames engulf the sky Kiyotaka flew around.

*SWIPE*
The Warlock of Plunder maneuvered around the inferno and golden chains, parrying and getting closer and closer to Sirius.
After being too preoccupied fighting Kiyotaka and still trying to keep him long range, Sirius set her eyes down to the masses of people below and was shocked.
All the people in the city square that were targeted by the bright, magical orb were all with their mouths open and standing completely still.
By modifying Shamack with Yang magic, he used the orb to put everyone in the vicinity in a trance. This way, they wouldn't get in the way of his fight nor be further influenced by the Archbishop of Wrath's authority.
