Chapter Fourteen: You're back

You decided to head to the quarry where Natasha brought you when you first came here, needing to feel closer to her. You climb up to the rock you both sat on and dangled your feet off the edge. You looked at the still water beneath you, and slowly started to cry. You thought about how your family had been lying to you, and how most of your extended family must know as well, you loved your life in Ireland, but it was all built on a lie. There was also a feeling of guilt, guilt that this family took you in, and sometimes you didn't treat them the way you should of, when you didn't want to empty the dishwasher or clean your room, you also know that they never showed you any different treatment from your sister. You wondered if everyone knew, even your sister, you wondered about your birth family, if they ever thought about you.

You hadn't realised that someone had followed you here until you felt a hand on your back as they sat beside you, when you looked up you saw Yelena had joined you here, realising who it was you quickly wiped your eyes and pretended like you weren't just crying,

"You know you don't have to pretend that you weren't crying" you could see her smile softly while she said it,

"I'm not good with the emotional support thing" she admitted, you stayed quiet and watched her,

"Why did you come out here?" she asked you, you shrugged your shoulders, she gave you a knowing look and you admitted that you wanted to feel closer to Nat, that she took you out here before Tony's party. Yelena said she thought as much, she said that Nat comes out here to get a break from her and you laughed, admitting that she had told you that too, Yelena faked being offended before admitting that when Nat is away she also likes to come out here,

"She told me you kissed her in the pool, said you had to count before though" you feel your cheeks go hot and you covered your face with your hands, you heard Yelena laugh at your reaction,

"She thought it was cute Y/n" you take you hands off your face, but it is still bright red,

"You don't have to be embarrassed around me" Yelena says turning towards you,

"You always catch me at my worst" you both laugh, reminiscing on the awkward moments that Yelena has witnessed,

"You make it easy" she smiles.

You both sit in a comfortable silence, both enjoying the stillness of the water, and the rustling of the trees, when it starts to get chilly you produce a small burning fire in your hand and Yelena warms her hands against it,

"Do you like Nat?" she asks you, you are taken back by this question, you furrow your eyebrows, and admit to Yelena that you are attracted to Nat, but you want to get to know her better,

"She said the same thing, I should probably let her tell you but I'm annoyed with her"

"Why?"

"She hasn't responded to me in days" Yelena admits,

"Me neither, do you think she is okay?"

"Steve has been reporting in to Stark and Fury" she informs you,

"How do you know?" you ask, she looks at you, you know she is asking if you are serious, you nod in realisation, trained spy, got it,

"You and Wanda are also spending time together, you slept over last night"

"Yeah, she kind of sprayed my bed with foam" you laugh,

"I know... do you have feelings for her?" Yelena asked, you look at her shocked, she is looking down at her feet, you still haven't said anything, she asks you not to hurt Nat in the process of trying to figure out your feelings, you tell her that it would be the last thing you would want to do,
