Aleksanders pov:

"They aren't here." I say, as Hollie walks in the door, once again.

"I know. They said they'd be back soon." She claims, walking down the hall.

I go into the kitchen to grab a water, and realize I should probably grab one for Hollie too.

When I get back from the kitchen, Hollie is sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone.

"Here." I say, handing her a bottle.

"Thanks?" She replies, but it was more like a question than a statement.

"Can I ask you a question?" I ask.

She sighs, and slightly rolls her eyes, before adjusting in the way she's sitting.

"Go ahead." She says, getting comfortable.

"What's that red stain on the floor right there?" I say.

It's a genuine question I've had since I moved in. And I figure she'll know, because she used to live here.

"That's a loaded question," She laughs. "What it is? Or why it's there?" She questions.

"Maybe both?" I laugh.

She smiles.

"It's blood. And that's funny, damn, never thought I would say that, but when Jayce found out I was pregnant, he had just gotten home from his honeymoon, with Ellie," She rubs her baby bump, before shifting in the way she's sitting, again.
"We had only found out the day before. But he must have found the test in the trash, because he walked down the hall with it, and he was pissed." I cant tell if she's about to cry, or laugh.

"Anyways, Jayce was mad, and beat Aug up," Aug? Her boyfriend? Baby daddy? "He eventually apologized and stuff, but ya know, it was a little rough at first..." She pauses. "Sorry that was a really long explanation. Basically Jayce best August up, and his nose was bleeding." She finishes.

"Wait who's August?" I ask.

"Oh my god! They didn't- he's my ex boyfriend." She says. Her eyes dart to the ground, where the stain is.

"Oh." I say. The mood was killed.

"Yeah.., it's fine though. We're still friends. I'm sure you'll meet him when he comes next week."

"I'll be out of town." I claim. Which, it's true. And I'll be gone for a while.

"He comes around occasionally, so you'll meet him eventually." She laughs, as Tapper and Wilder walk in the door.
