Aleksanders pov:

Our car ride is awkwardly silent, but there's so much I want to talk about. Somehow, being on my trip made me realize how much I enjoy being around Hollie.

"Wasn't August supposed to come here for a while?" I question, breaking the silence.

"He did. He also happened to leave today." She practically mumbles, focusing on what's straight ahead.

I missed him by that much.

I go back to just focusing on driving. She's clearly in no mood to talk, and i'm not going to engage in one way conversation. But god I love her voice, and I love hearing her talk.

We pull into the parking lot, and I park. Hollie almost immediately jumps out of the car, and gets her sons car seat from the back seat.

"Do you want me to carry it?" I ask her. I know how heavy those things are, and Hollie is small.

"I've got him." She claims, fixing his blanket.

"What do you need to get?" I question, shutting the back seat door, and locking the car.

"Just the usual necessities ."

"Alright. Well, whatever you get is on me." I say.

"No. No Im not going to do that. You get your water bottles, and let me handle my own stuff." Hollie half smiles.

"It's fine darling. Get what you need," I move a loose strand of hair out of her face. "And I'll take care of it."

"Fine. But I want to pay you back somehow," Hollie adjusts the car seat on her arm. "So, we have to make a deal."

I smile a little. I know exactly what i want.

"Uh oh. Now I'm nervous. What do you want me to do?" Hollie smiles too.

"You have to let me take you out, on a date." I say.

"Tell me the time, and the place. I'll be there."
