Augusts pov:
I watch as Hollie's eyes grow heavier and heavier. She's exhausted.
Aleksander has been quiet since Hollie basically called him out.
Before Hollie falls asleep, I let her know that I'll take West for the day. She doesn't say anything, just lays back, and falls asleep.
I walk out of the hospital, Wests car seat in my hand.
"Hey Jayce." I say into my phone.
"Hey. How's she doin'?" He questions.
"She's great. Surgery went well." West starts crying in the back seat.
"Good," He pauses. "Do you have West?" Jayce questions.
"Yeah. I'm taking him off of her hands for a bit. So she can rest up." I reach back and fix his pacifier.
"I really appreciate it Aug. I know it was probably awk-"
"No problem. I'll always look out for her." I say, backing out of the parking spot.
"I know you will."
_______Aleksanders pov:
I am fuming. Hollie seems happier than ever though.
I don't know what to do. I know how bad August is for her. I don't want her hurting the same way she always does when she comes back from seeing him.
She deserves a break.
The silence overwhelms me. You could hear a needle drop in this room. I hate it.
Hollies asleep, which is good, because she needs the rest. August took West, which is slightly concerning to me. I don't know why.
I study Hollie. Her skin is so smooth. Her resting eyes, I know are blue. Her blonde hair, is turning more brown at the roots. It makes me wonder if she dyes it. Even asleep, she's flawless.
I think I love her.
