THERE WERE TWO TABLES set up in the lodge, one filled with the cabin group, the other had the lodge group. They all looked like they were happy, or at least trying to look like it, as they ate Walter’s food.
Luke: You okay, man?
Nick: Yeah, I’m just… I wish I hadn’t pulled that trigger.
Luke: Just try to forget about it.
The man then caught sight of me and Clementine, raising his hand to wave at us. At the same time, my dad smiled and beckoned us over to his table.
Kenny: Right here, Princess, Clementine!
I looked at Clementine, confused as to what to do, but it already looked like she’d figure it out.
Clementine: You sit with your dad, I’ll go with Luke. Then everybody will be happy, right? And you get to hang out with your dad more.
I nodded, giving her a small smile before walking over to the lodge’s table, my dad grinning widely. Looking behind me, I saw Nick and Luke look slightly sad, but happy that Clem at least walked over.
