"... and that's where things ended last night. I'm so sorry! I should've asked you first, but she was really angry," you say sincerely with a bow.
"Wha- No! It's okay, I get it," Takemichi says frantically waving his hands. "It must've been worrisome for Rin to see her little sister suddenly come home with cuts and bruises. Anyone would be concerned. I ran with delinquents before, so my parents are already used to seeing me like this."
"Uhhh, is that supposed to be a good thing?" You ask with a worried tone.
By now, you two were walking to your apartment since the sun was down and your fear of Rin scolding you for being out late for the second time in a row was high. You walk past the playground outside your building and head up the stairs.
"So Rin knows about us," Takemichi says thoughtfully. "This could be a good thing and a bad thing depending on which way she goes. Her support would be beneficial... but if she doesn't..."
"This is so stressful! I don't even know if she believes me," you groan. "I probably sound just as crazy since bringing it up the first time around."
"To be fair, it is pretty unbelievable..."
"How did you do it? Naoto seemed to believe you rather quickly."
"Ah. He said that's only because he was into occult stuff like this back in the day. Plus he's only a kid. Rin is in high school, right? It makes sense why she wouldn't be so easily persuaded."
"Yeah..." You stop outside your door and lean your back against it.
Gosh. I'm so nervous... should I have just not said anything at all? Is this going to put a dent in our relationship? Did she tell our parents? What would they think?
"Um..." Takemichi begins while rubbing the nape of his neck, "I don't know if this would make things better but I can help explain everything to your sister. That might convince her."
Did he notice I was hesitant to go inside?
The thought makes you smile but you shake your head. "Oh, no. Not if you want to live to see another day," you warn jokingly. "Rin is fine 99.9% of the time, but when she's angry it's best for everyone to run. You've experienced that first hand when we met for the first time in the infirmary at the station remember?"
"O-Oh..." He looks off to the side and you could visibly see the worried expression that he wore.
You lightly use your fist to tap his shoulder, "Don't worry Takemichi. I didn't tell you to stress you out. I told you because you should know that Rin is aware of our situation now, whether she believes it or not. I was the one who told her everything, so I should be the one to face the consequences of my actions, whatever they may be."
"Just don't die on me, okay? I'm gonna need your help with all this," Takemichi jokes, effectively lightening the mood.
You chuckle, "Yeah, yeah."
You look to the side when you hear footsteps on the stairs of your building but nobody ever came up. Must've been a neighbor.
You push yourself off your front door and unlock it. "I'll text you how everything went after I talk to her... and thanks for walking me home again."
"No problem. I'll see ya later."
You wave Takemichi one last goodbye and take a deep breath before heading into your apartment.
Now... Where are you Rin?
You take off your shoes at the entrance and begin to search your apartment. Your sister wasn't in her bedroom. She wasn't in the living room... or the kitchen... or the bathroom... or your parents' room... she wasn't even hiding in your room like last time. She was nowhere to be found.
