personality,
due to the community and her family casting her father out she is always worried they would do the same to her, especially as her gift ties with his. she comes across as mischievous and confident, not caring what the townspeople or her family thinks, but deep down she gets easily nervous and desperately craves validation from abuela, who only sees her father in her. much like her tía pepa, who helped raise her after he father left, she is prone to mood swings and anxiety, stemming from the pressure from abuela and the fact that her gift makes her feel useless to her family and the encanto.

she has a strong love for her family, especially her father. she is not afraid to speak up about him while the townspeople and her family try and paint him as a creepy villain who makes bad things happen. the two have a great father-daughter relationship despite him being gone for ten years. she doesn't have any memories of her mom, who died of an illness even julieta's gift couldn't heal. she has a soft spot for fellow fifteen year old emilio who she met at antonio's gift ceremony.

valentina is a fifteen year old colombian girl who's about 5'2" in height. she inherited most of her features from her father like her wild, almost unmanageable, black curly hair that reaches about her shoulders, big dark green eyes, and light freckles across her nose. she primarily wears a lilac dress with dark purple accents that was handmade by mirabel, a purple ribbon in her hair, and silver earrings. symbolizing her gift, the bottom of her dress is lined with hourglasses. when using her gift, her irises glow bright purple.
powers and abilities,
valentina has the ability to see into the past. taught to her by her father to help cope with the taxing nature of their gift, she performs a ritual that requires a large open space though she is able to do it in smaller spaces. like her father, she does not have full control over her powers and some visions can come involuntarily. her gift takes a lot of energy, and if used too much without a lot of rest can make her sick.

her gift is meant to be accompanied with her fathers, when used together they are able to see clear and vibration visions of the past and future. by herself, her visions are not always clear and can vary in clarity depending on what she focuses on. anyone else in the circle with her can also see her visions and can help her focus on certain parts. when the vision finishes, it produces a slab of amethyst with an image of the most important part of the vision.
