Iris P.O.V

One more day.

Tomorrow she would be heading to the hearing.

She was nervous and excited.

Annalise had already picked out a dress for her to wear to the hearing- Not overload but royal.

It was beautiful- and it was comfortable.

"Iris?" Annalise asked from the doorway of her bedroom- snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Come in," She responded, moving over and patting the bed.

Annalise made her way over and sat on the massive bed. "How have you been holding up?"

"I'm better," Iris told her.

Annalise smiled. "We're going to get him back."

"I hope,"

"I heard you received your dad's guitar. Can you play me a song?"

"Sure,"

Iris got up and grabbed her guitar. She sat back down beside Annalise and played her favourite song- the one her human mother would always sing to her.

*Cue Music!

She played her guitar softly.

The other night, dear.
As I lay sleeping.
I dreamed I held you, in my arms.
When I awoke, dear.
I was mistaken.
So I hung my head and I cried

Annalise smiled sadly and closed her eyes.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

I'll always love you
And make you happy
And nothing else could come between
But if you leave me to allow another
You'll have shattered all of my dreams.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away.

"That was amazing," Annalise told her, hugging her.

Iris let a tear slip out of her eyes. It had been so long since she had a hug.

"Thank you," Iris whispered.

"For what?" Annalise asked, pulling away.

"It's been so hard these past weeks. From leaving the Lost Cities, to becoming queen of a whole tribe, to Zhan... I guess what I'm trying to say is- thank you, Annalise. Thank you for being here when I need you most. Thank you for helping me through all this. I guess I never really opened up in the Lost Cities because all of my friends and family already had their own problems." Iris told Annalise, wiping her teary eyes.

"Anything for my best friend," Annalise responded, pulling her in for another hug.

Maybe everything would be okay.

Maybe she'd find her happy ending after all.

There was a knock on the door.

"Queen Iris?" A guard asked.

"Yes?" Iris replied, turning around.

"You have a visitor," The guard told her.

The guard stepped aside to let in a small girl with brown hair and hazel eyes.

"H- hi," The girl stuttered, hiding behind her hair.

"Hello," Iris said with a smile.

The girl looked up and beamed. The guard left the room and closed the door.

"What's your name?" Annalise asked, moving over so the girl could sit.

"Calista," The girl responded, sitting beside Annalise.

"That's a beautiful name. My name is Iris, and that's Annalise." Iris told Calista.

Calista smiled.

"So, what brings you here?" Annalise asked Calista.

"I wanted to meet you," Calista told Iris.

Iris laughed and they chatted away.

By the time they finished talking, it was 9:00 P.M, and they were all getting tired.

"That was fun," Calista exclaimed.

"Agreed!" Annalise said, giving Calista a high five.

"You guys better head home and get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a big day," Iris told them.

They nodded and went home.

That night Iris dreamed happily.

Dreams about Zhan coming home.

Dreams about her family welcoming her home.

Dreams about her happy ending.

Dreams about her happy ending

Tam P.O.V

Tomorrow the hearing was going down, and he and his friends were preparing for the worst.

They had already addressed the Council and they were placing guards everywhere is case.

But it was hard thinking that Sophie would do anything like that.

Then again, they had really hurt her.

"Do you really think she's up to something?" Tam asked Linh.

Tam and Linh had met up at mysterium's cafe to discuss the hearing.

"I don't know, Tam. I'm getting worried." Linh replied, taking a bite of Mallowmelt.

"So am I. But we're prepared." Tam told her.

"But do we really need to prepare? This is Sophie we're talking about. She may be upset, but i don't think she'd ever do anything like that."

"You're right. If anything, Sophie just wanted to hear what the Council wanted to say."

"I just don't know anymore, Tam."

"Hey, it's going to be okay." Tam said, giving her a hug.

Linh hugged him back.

This was so hard for them all.

But they had to trust that they'd find Sophie.

And they had to trust that she was okay.
