Fixing the BTL-A4 Y-wing was difficult, but it was the perfect distraction to keep me from thinking too much of my nightmare. I had replaced the missing heavy ion jet turbine with a new one and the sensor array had also been replaced. Some of the coolant coils had been blasted which required me to remove the underside of the nose cone so I could access them. After that I realised that I forgot to weld on a new engine housing so I got that done and now I was currently laying underneath the nose cone with my datapad connected to the steering wires. The responding program that sent out the signals to the rest of the ship was out and needed a full re-coding job. Checking the chrono I saw that it was still very early so I still had some alone time before the rest of the crew and troopers were waking up. Suddenly the alarm for the hangar bay doors started blaring and the lights lit up like they always do during night hours when someone is landing. What's going on? Dropping my datapad and scooting out from under the ship to stand up I saw three LAAT/i's coming in for a landing. They're back! I rushed over to them as they landed and opened up their blaster doors. I saw Anakin standing over a stretcher with someone on it. Looking at the other gunships I saw more stretchers with troopers on them. Stopping on the other side of the stretcher that Anakin was standing by I saw Ahsoka laying on it. She smiled tiredly at me as I put my hand on her forehead gently,

"Ahsoka what happened?!"

my eyes searched over her face for any signs of pain. She spoke hoarsely,

"Some deadly virus on Naboo was leaked in an underground bunker. But I'm okay."

WHAT?! I stood there stunned and looked up at Anakin. Noticing that someone was missing I spoke before he had time to further explain what happened,

"Where's Rex?"

his eyes softened and he smiled,

"He's okay, although he's still unconscious from encountering the virus. Ahsoka had the Force to give her strength, Rex didn't."

I nodded more calmly but on the inside my anxiety and worry for him was flaring up. Anakin knew that Rex was a good friend of mine, even though things were tense as of late, so he nodded his head to the other gunship behind him. Glancing down at Ahsoka before flashing him an uncertain look he spoke gently,

"Go, I'll watch over Snips."

I gave him a thankful smile and gently patted Ahsoka between her lekkus before jogging over to the other gunship. There, on a stretcher with Hothead and Chiller on either side, was an unconscious Captain Rex. Images from my nightmare with Rex lying unconscious in my lap were flashing before my eyes as I looked down at him. Trying to push past them and ignore the ever growing worry I looked up to Hothead and Chiller,

"Has he been unconscious for long?"

they shared a look before Chiller spoke up,

"A few hours, but he'll be okay. His vitals are stable so we just have to transfer him to our medbay until he wakes up."

nodding a little as he spoke Hothead piped up in a surprisingly soft voice,

"Yeah, the General got everyone who was infected an antidote."

letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding, I thanked them both. They smiled and walked away, knowing that I would look after Rex from here on out. Once they were further away I turned back to Rex and his sleeping figure on the stretcher. His helmet was placed on the side of the stretcher and he looked peaceful. I lifted my right hand up and hesitated for a second before gently placing it on his chest piece. Feeling the calming rise and fall of his chest as he breathed, I felt oddly relaxed by it. I'm just tired, nothing else. The boys and I got the all clear to bring them to the medbay as everyone started to get everything ready extra early because of their arrival. I started guiding Rex's stretcher to the medbay in tow with the others and stayed with him as they transferred him to a medical bed. Taking his helmet I sat on a chair next to his bed with it in my lap and lightly traced the Jaig eyes with my finger. I heard footsteps approaching and knew exactly who it was before he spoke up,
