Finding Rex proved more difficult than we thought. Even Anakin hadn't found him, which resulted in him grumpily walking away whilst muttering under his breath like a youngling. I giggled at him and told Ahsoka to calm him down so I could keep searching for Rex. She wiggled her eyebrows at me but I just rolled my eyes and threatened to paint her lekkus green. I walked around several hallways and corridors, asking troopers on the way if they had seen their Captain anywhere. The only responses were either a shrug or shaking their heads. Night hours were starting to roll around aboard the cruiser and I was thinking about giving up and just find him tomorrow. Deciding that it was probably the best idea, I headed back to my room. It felt like all I did was sleep, but like every other trooper I was savouring every bit of sleep I could get. When you were on missions, sleep was a luxury, and the ground where you usually had to sleep on wasn't all too comfortable. I had changed and gone to bed again, hoping that I didn't have any nightmares.

~Dream~

"RUN!"  "It is the will of the Force, my young friend."  "Where's your padawan? I wanna meet him!"  "I'm Ahsoka and I'm not a youngling!"  "Hello little one, who might you be?"  "Rex..." "Don't act surprised, (Y/N). You know exactly what you have done. The lies you told. The things you kept hidden for us, from me."  "(Y/N) don't!"  "Hey, don't worry Ka'ra, we'll be found in no time. I promise, nothing's going to hurt you."  "W-what did y-you just do?!"  "How could you hide this from me?! I thought you trusted me! I thought I could trust you!"  "Goodnight, alor'ad."  "No no no! Come on stay with me! Please! Please don't leave me!"  "I miss him so much, Echo."  "You were my brother! I loved you!"  "Ad'ika, did you take the last cookie?"  "Papa look! I fixed the steering!"  "Good soldiers..."  "You're one to talk, di'kut!"  "Who are you?"  "With all due respect sir, we like to do things our way."  "How can you follow orders when you know they're wrong?!" "(Y/N), I- gedet'ye."  "Master Plo! You're back!"  "I'm sorry Ahsoka."

Snapping my eyes open I looked around my dark room. The chrono on my bedside table was showing me that I had only slept for two hours. Sighing I sat up in bed and felt a dull headache from the dream. It wasn't exactly a nightmare, just a bunch of mixed voices. I could recognise all of them and who they belonged to, a few had been in my voice even. But I couldn't remember where I had heard them being said. Some of them I could, but the majority, I had no idea. Stretching out my back I felt wide awake. Well what am I supposed to do now? One of the voices that belonged to my father, echoed in my head. Adi'ka, did you take the last cookie? Smiling warmly at the memory, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I brought my datapad and quietly made my way through the hallways, all the way to the mess hall. Since I had the datapad with me I was able to slice my way into the mess. I had disarmed the security systems and entered the mess, closing the door behind me. Walking to the kitchen and observing the empty benches I had a bittersweet feeling. Seeing them echoing with emptiness in the dim lights, I had to stop. Being so used to seeing them filled with bustling, lively troopers I could hear the faint sounds of their laughter. Smiling softly at the thought I heard one of the voices from my dream ring out like a whisper again,

"Good soldiers..."

feeling a cold shiver run through my entire body I lost my breath. A pang of pain shot through my heart. Clutching my head I stumbled a bit before regaining my balance again. Confusion swarmed my head, leaving me with more questions and no answers. I shook my head and just continued to the kitchen area where they prepared the food being served to us. I looked around in the various cabinets whilst plucking out the ingredients I needed. Having everything I need I got to work on making midnight-cookies. Humming a lullaby I once learned I was so focused on making the cookie dough that I didn't hear the footsteps approaching. Living in my own little world I swayed a little to my own humming as my hands worked together the ingredients. I shaped it into little round shapes and put them down on an alloy tray. Putting them in for baking I got a bit too caught up in the melody as I danced along the counter in front of me. As I was drying my hands on a rag I spun around, only to crash into a rock solid chest, resulting in me dropping the rag. Yelping in surprise I felt two muscular arms go around my waist as they placed their hands on my lower back. Rex. I placed my hands on his chest and looked up to see him grinning at me with the sweetest smile,
