Alec's POV:

"Alec Williams, get your ass out that pool now!" Coach Morgan yelled at me as I reached the wall.

Lifting my googles up, I glanced over at her furious expression and widened my eyes. What did I do, come on Alec, you need to know what the hell you've done so you can come up with an excuse to save your ass.

Anxiously lifting my body out of the water, I brought myself to a stand and walked over to my coach hesitantly. By the time I reached her, I was ready to barf from nerves.

"You want to tell me why you're getting in spats with Elijah Thorpe? Again!" Morgan snapped at me earning a wince from myself as I recoiled.

Morgan was 5'3 but she was scarier than a 6'0 weightlifter. So, despite me having to look down slightly to talk to her, I was still ready to pass out from fear. This woman could end my career in milliseconds, she had my life in her hands and that was terrifying.

"I don't know what you mean?" I replied questionably, feigning innocence.

Maybe I could get off the hook if I pretended I didn't know what she was angry about, and she'd think whatever it was had nothing to do with me. Innocent until guilty and all that.

"Oh," She chuckled darkly, "So, this isn't you?"

She pulled out her iPhone, unlocking it and displaying a video of security camera footage. It was blurry but you could easily see my team jacket and name on it. Fuck, that was stupid on my part. The video was of me trashing Elijah's car shamelessly.

It had been a week since the party and Elijah thought appropriate revenge for 'embarrassing' him would be to spread around my baby photos along with a long story of how I wet the bed when I was ten. It felt appropriate to egg his car in retaliation, but I got carried away, broke a window wiper and in the process of trying to run away when his car alarm went off, broke his side mirror too.

Call me heartless but I should have broken both mirrors.

"Those gym sessions you've been giving me are really working, I mean, look at my shoulders," I commented, completely overshadowing the purpose of showing me the video.

"Alec!" Morgan hissed out in frustration, "I had Danny on the phone all morning threatening to involve lawyers and restraining orders. Do you know how hard it was to get him to agree to let you go over and clean their pool as punishment instead?"

"Sorry what? No, I'm not doing that. If I'm such a monster, I shouldn't be near their complex. Not to mention, Elijah's online stunt was all over the local news articles; How am I supposed to be taken seriously for the Olympics now? At least all I did was wreck his car, he messed with my career!" I told Morgan, dead set on my decision.

"You listen here Mr, you are my best swimmer but this feud you have is damaging your career because of the both of you. I had your first sponsor lined up, but Danny sent them that video and they've withdrawn, because of your actions. It's time you and Elijah sort this out or I'm sorry Alec but I can't be your coach. Elijah will also be cleaning the pool as his punishment for damaging your online presence but that is final, or I won't be your coach," Morgan explained, causing me to falter.

"I had a sponsor?" I mumbled, more quietly as reality set in.

Morgan sighed and uncrossed her arms, putting a comforting had on my arm, "Yes, you're doing great things right now, Alec. Even if you got second, you have people interested. They love the rivalry between you and Elijah, it keeps you both relevant which in turn would get them publicity, but not this kind of rivalry. A more friendly one that won't damage your reputation or theirs."
