Alec's POV

I woke up feeling like absolute death. I'd had such a brutal sleep and the only thing that would currently help was coffee. With that in mind, I sluggishly crawled out of bed and made my way down to the kitchen, not caring about the chill across my back from my lack of shirt.

Reaching the kitchen, I put on the kettle and leaned against the counter, raking my hands through my bed hair as the kettle boiled. Just as I opened the cupboard to grab a mug, a sluggish Elijah stumbled into the kitchen looking tired and confused.

"How did I end up here?" He asked groggily, glancing around the kitchen before meeting my gaze.

"One of your team mates brought you over since you were locked out," I told him, placing my mug on the counter and offering him one to which he nodded.

Placing a second mug down, I made myself busy making the coffees as Elijah stumbled over to the kitchen island and took a seat.

"Well this isn't awkward," He mumbled after a moment of silence.

I chose to ignore him as I finished making the coffee and placed his mug in front of him, taking a sip from mine as I took a seat across from him.

"Thanks," He muttered staring down at his drink.

We sat there in silence, not really too sure on how to break the silence.

"Look, I'm just going to go-" he started, getting up from his seat.

"It's fine, you don't have to go," I cut him off, causing him to sit back down awkwardly.

The silence continued for a few more moments before I broke it.

"You were pretty wrecked last night," I stated.

"Guess so," He replied, drinking his coffee.

"We should talk," I continued.

"About what?" Elijah replied emotionlessly.

God, it was like talking to a brick wall.

"Us? I don't fucking know," I muttered, glancing up at him.

"In that case do continue," He muttered sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes, finishing my coffee before getting up and putting my mug in the sink. I was so uncomfortable and not sure how to approach the conversation I'd been thinking about since last night. Leaning on the counter, I chose not to sit back down as I stared at Elijah who stared back at me, waiting for me to continue.

"Issac came to speak to me last night. About what you said to him about me," I began as he averted his gaze.

"I shouldn't have done that, I was just angry because you dismissed my entire confession," Elijah  explained half heartedly.

"I know, I was wrong," I replied, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.

"You were?" He replied, shocked.

"um, yeah. Ultimately you feel the way you do about, um, me and that won't go away. Me saying we should just leave it wasn't going to help with anything," I tried to explain, summarising Issac's point.

"True," He mumbled out, leaning back.

"I'm not sure what to do moving forward though," I sighed.

"Neither," He mumbled, crossing his arms.

Sighing, getting frustrated that this is going no where. I stood up from the counter and mumbled a lame excuse to leave and headed upstairs. Heading into my room, I grabbed a shirt and chucked it on before sitting down on the edge of my bed defeated. This was going no where.

Shortly after, Elijah appeared at my door way awkwardly. Guess there was no such thing as escaping Elijah.

"I-uhm, I have a question?" He nervously stated, walking in to sit next to me.

"Mhm?" I asked, glancing to my left at where he was now sitting.

"What are we doing moving forward? Do you want to explore things or do you want to draw a line?" He stated, asking the obvious question hanging over the room.

"I...I don't know," I mumbled, staring at him.

It would be easy to say I wanted to draw a line under it and go back to whatever it was we had before but I couldn't stop thinking about kissing him. Even right now, he looked so inviting, it looked too easy to just lean forward and-

"Well I think you need to make that decision now," Elijah mumbled as he inched towards me.

This was it. However I acted now would be my answer. No more hot and cold. This would be the all or nothing. He was so close. It was just so...easy. I just needed to lean one inch forward.

staring at Elijah's eyes, I closed my eyes along with the gap and met his lips. Each kiss was better than the last as we moved in sync, my hand coming up to cup his cheek. Elijah let out a small groan in relief which sent lightning through my veins as I surged forward more, now absolute in my decision. He fell back onto my bed as the kiss grew more heated, me straddling him and biting his lip, desperate to hear him groan again.

After a few seconds, Elijah put his hands on my shoulders and leaned back to break the kiss. He stared at me for a few seconds, as if not quite believing what is going on.

"There's no way this is real," He muttered in disbelief causing me to let out a small breathy laugh.

"It's real, I just don't know what this means," I whispered honestly, still straddling him.

"Neither, but we don't need to label things right now," Elijah replied, smiling up at me.

"I agree, now stop talking," I muttered, leaning forward and kissing him again with more assertiveness.

"Fuck," He groaned out in response as we continued kissing and getting carried away.

This was good, really good. If I'd known it would be this good I'd have gave in a long time ago.

My phone began ringing on my nightstand causing us to break our kiss. I rolled my eyes and leaned over to grab it, seeing it was Nova.

"Yes?" I answered Nova, not moving from my current position.

"Hey I just wanted to check Elijah is okay and you haven't killed him," Nova chirped, seeming as if she wasn't just at a party last night and as if we weren't fighting.

"Wow, no consideration for your own team mate, what if he tried to kill me?" I whined at her as she began chuckling.

"Unlikely. I know how much of a temper you have. So is everything good?" She asked as I smirked, looking down at Elijah who was confused staring back at me.

"Yep all good, Nova," I replied, still smirking before saying goodbye and hanging up.

"All good, huh?" Elijah laughed as I set my phone on my nightstand.

"Definitely," I replied, leaning down to kiss him again.

We spent the rest of the morning kissing and laughing about how stupid we both were to act the way we did before we both agreed to go back to bed, this time with Elijah in my bed rather than the guest room.
