"Nic, what are you doing?"

"Nic, what are you doing?"

Walking into my older brother's hospital room, we found him standing up, as he held onto the side of his hospital bed.

"Don't worry about me" he grumbled, turning around so that he was facing us, but still clutching onto the side of his hospital bed.

I could see how pale he had gotten, as well as the sweat that was dripping down the side of his forehead.

Rafael had decided to take us out of school for the rest of the day, so we decided to pay Nicolas a visit.

Bella had gone home to get him some more clothes, as well as some for herself.

"Nic! Nic! Look what I got!" Matteo then bounded up to Nic, not noticing Nic struggling to even stand up with assistance.

Nic glanced down at Matteo, giving him a slight smile, but I saw how fake it was.

I had worn that type of smile too many times, that it actually became real to me at this point.

Of course, no one would know what that is like.

"That's so cool Mat" Nic looked down at Matteo, who was jumping on the spot with the brightest smile ever.

He was showing Nic his award that he had gotten at school this morning for getting all of his spelling right.

Madeleine was a bit sour because she had spelt one word wrong, and that Matteo kept shoving his award in everyone's face.

I guess I kind of understood how she was feeling, but no one else would notice that.

No one else ever did.

"I think I'm going to go see Elliot" I mumbled, not wanting anyone to hear, knowing they would object or want to come with.

"No, you're not" Rafael stopped me.

"Yes, I am" I responded, feeling confident.

I had changed.

I wasn't the same little girl that Rafael could push every which way.

I wasn't the same.

No one ever stayed the same.

When someone you love dies or is removed from your life, you cry and mourn, but you eventually have to move on and get on with life.

Find other people to love.

I used to spend every second with Rafael.

Now?

I couldn't stand being in the same room or car with him.

He could turn out to be just like them at any time.

"Sav, you know the visiting hours for him is over" Rafael tried to persuade.
