"Are you part of the mafia?"

Those words kept ringing within my head, as I continued to stand there, my shaking hands holding onto the hospital bed tightly.

I told her I wouldn't get mad, but this question broke my heart.

We were the ones that were supposed to be keep her from finding about the mafia, but clearly, she was exposed to it at such a young age.

"Well, I guess you have already figured it out then" Bruno huffed, clearly disheartened that his little sister knew about the mafia.

We were the ones that were supposed to keep her from finding out.

I couldn't deal with it.

So, I did what I did best.

I walked out of that hospital room.

As soon as I had closed the door behind myself, I ran into the people that I didn't want to speak to so soon.

"Oye, ¿adónde vas tan rápido?" my father questioned, grabbing me by the shoulders.

(Translation: Hey, where are you going so fast?)

"Anywhere but here" I responded, pushing his arms from my shoulders, as I started to walk briskly past everyone.

These white walls were starting to suffocate me.

Everything was too much.

"Milo!" I heard Lizzie yell right before I felt her body collide into the back of leg, halting my movements.

"Where are you going?" she questioned, before I got a chance to respond.

"I need to go somewhere away from here" I responded, turning around and bending down so that she now towered over me.

"Don't forget to come back for us" she responded, as she started playing with the collar of my dress shirt, reaching for it.

Lizzie always said 'Don't forget to come back for us', but now I was the one begging for her to stay with me.

She was reaching for the family necklace that we all wore underneath our shirts.

"I'm not going to be gone for long" I responded, resting my hands either side of her face, as I pressed a light, gentle kiss on her forehead.

"I'm not going to be gone for long" he responded, but I never knew how much that sentence was a lie now.

"Okay, but be safe" she said, as she kissed my cheek, before I let her go.
