hello

♡︎

Minho picked up the random book on the side table, trying to find something to do for the next few hours. It was the third week in a row that he found himself in the same seat and as much as he tried to complain about it, there was always something at the back of his head not allowing him to. The architect had noticed the young eighteen-year-old closely and he couldn't help but feel worried about him.

"Jeongin," The same sweet voice called from the door, making the youngest groggily drag himself into the office. Minho looked up to the young therapist, who seemed to have noticed the action. Once they're concerned eyes met, Jisung offered him a reassuring smile.

Jisung tried his best; he asked what he could and utilized every response to the best of his abilities. Both of them felt how the air felt different this time. "I just feel extra tired today.. I-I don't know." Jeongin uttered, looking out the window of the high rise office. He was extremely tired that day, like he hadn't slept for years and all he wanted to do was go lay in bed and sleep.

Sleep was comfortable, Jeongin would lay under a fluffy warm blanket while he set the house to a freezing cold temperature. His blinds shut, followed by blackout curtains and music. It was just peaceful. He didn't have to think or do anything and that's all he wanted; Jeongin wanted to rest. Even laying down, without movement, his mind raced a million thoughts an hour.

Jeongin had made it a habit of running out the office to get fresh air, as much as it worried Seungmin, he was glad whenever Minho brought him because he never questioned him.

"You haven't changed anything right?" Minho asked jokingly as he looked at the clipboard with the same paper he signs each week.

"Not since last week, the week before that, and not since I started my practice." Jisung shook his head with a soft smile.

"I'm sorry."

Jisung tilted his head when he heard the architect utter those words. "W-what do you mean?" Jisung felt his heart began to race, wondering about what information he was missing.

"For lying.."

"Lying?"

"You had asked me if I would be bringing Jeongin weekly, and I said no."

Jisung lets out a small laugh, but in reality he let out the breath he was holding; he had worried for the worst. He could hear the joking tone from the older, which is why he felt so much better when Minho also shook his head, chuckling.

"You didn't know. It's completely okay. You know therapy isn't just for those struggling, it's for everyone, and those who lie sometimes. It's good for everyone." Jisung replied playfully, as Minho handed over the signed paperwork.

"Sold, sign me up then." Minho answered impulsively, but didn't regret it when he realized what he had gotten himself into. Jisung couldn't help but blush slightly at the thought. They both walked over to the receptionist, who gave Minho an appointment for the time that works for him, and got all his information.

"Alright, I'll see you next week, and I'll see if you lied this time."

"I'll just go to my therapist if I do."

"Therapists have their own therapist?"

Jisung only nodded in response, confirming the older's confusion.

"And your therapist has a therapist?" Jisung smiled, amused as he nodded, yet again. "I guess I know the answer to the next question then." Minho mumbled as he nodded to himself, answering his last question.

Once Minho had walked down the hall, Jisung felt his cheeks hurt from how much he had smiled in those few minutes. His skin felt like it was internally sweating from how the older had made him feel.

Although, in a matter of seconds, guilt flooded him. Minho was taken, he was dating Seungmin. Jisung could never get in between a relationship but he couldn't ignore the ache his heart felt.

Meanwhile, Minho made his down to the parking garage. He felt pure happiness; he was starting to notice Jisung, but when he thought of him, his mind reminded him of none other than Seungminie.

That was the first time the young architect found himself conflicted with his feelings regarding the brunette.

- the next day -

Hyunjin arrived home at a reasonable time. Eight in the evening was early for him compared to his usual routine. As usual, the lawyer checked the cold and lonely house before he set down the dinner he picked up on his way home.

The reason he was even home at that time was that Hyunjin was working on a client's case at Changbin's, and Felix, being the kindest person ever, had packed both of the brothers dinner. Although, Felix had warned him that he would be upset if they didn't eat the food while it was warm.

Hyunjin and Felix had a great friendship, but after the freckled male's near death experience, the two seemed to be there for each other more. Essentially, they become best friends as they work together for the benefit of the babies; Jeongin and Jay.

When the young lawyer reached the second floor, he shivered at the freezing temperature. There he stood, knocking on the door. It would only make it worse if he tried to go inside his brother's room without permission. Hearing a faint "come in", Hyunjin walked into the dark room.

Sighing disappointedly, Hyunjin noticed that his younger brother probably hadn't gone to college yet again. Knowing the intense college schedule, the lawyer knew that by this month, final semester exams were happening. Contrary to what the older would have normally done, - which was getting frustrated -  he sat on the edge of the bed.

"You want dinner?"

Jeongin sat up, not expecting that question but rather, an intense scolding. Shaking his head, Jeongin looked away from his brother. The only source of light from the hallway made the older brother sigh yet again. "Felix sent it.. he said he would be upset if we didn't eat it while it's warm.."

"You know I-I can't eat at the-"

"I'll join you."

While eating at the dauntingly large dining room was what they both had expected, they settled for the kitchen island instead. Jeongin was stunned when the older offered to join him for dinner because the last time they had dinner together was when things were okay, when Seungmin was still with them.

It was awkward and silent as the two ate the delicious meal quietly. It had been a while since they had both eaten a proper, homemade meal, and it settled in that it had been almost two years since things were "normal."

"How's school?" Hyunjin asked once they almost finished their meal, wanting to break the silence, but he didn't expect for the younger to abruptly stand up, harshly placing his drink on the island. Jeongin ran upstairs and locked his door, leaving Hyunjin to once again wonder how he could keep doing this.

How long until the nightmare was over..

"Someone is bound to get burned, but even if it burns it doesn't mean you'll die."
