Flunk'd - Ava King from Bunk'd x Reader

005 - (Y/N's Story)

I've been getting to know Ava for the past couple of hours after lunch. She is a really big fan of volleyball and she loves playing it. "Yeah! I uh- not to brag, but I was in a team my 3rd grade year. I got MVP... but at the same time, everyone got one of those."

Ava simply laughed. "So, can you play? Because I wanted to play with someone this summer," Her eyes widened, "Shoot, that sounded wrong. You know what I mean though, right? I just want to play volleyball with someone this summer."

I just nodded as a small smile appeared on my face. Ava proceeded to talk and I just stared at her deeply. "Mhm.. Yeah," I mindlessly said.

Lou burst in through the doors, screaming. "HELP! OH NO!" I started to panic, but Ava stayed in her position and stayed calm.

She asked, "What happened, Lou? I bet whatever it is, it'll be fine." I squinted at Ava as she asked what happened.

I yelled over Lou's screaming, "HOW ARE YOU STAYING CALM?!"

Ava yelled back, "I'm the youngest of 5 boys! I've adjusted well enough." She looked a bit sorrowful; I couldn't help but feel a sort of sympathy for her. She wasn't that bad of a person and she's pretty, so that's a bonus.

Right, as Ava and I followed Lou, we scanned the Great Lawn, but no one was there! "Uh... dude, where's the issue? You literally bothered me for what-," I quickly got interrupted by Matteo.

"Noah! He- he ran away! B- because we said something! A- and now I feel bad," Matteo spoke nervously; stuttering as he spoke.

Oh shoot. Well that's great. Gwen, Destiny, Matteo, Finn, Lou, Ava and I went to go search for him in the woods. See, I'm not really the athletic type so I was never good at running a mile, so I got tired easily. I had to trudge along slowly with Finn with me, talking some random BS.

I heard some large noise and I asked, "Um, Finn, was that you?"

He stood still for a moment then shook his head. "Nope. THAT was me." I slightly tilted my head before scrunching my nose in disgust.

We ventured a bit until Gwen bent down. As we all questioned what she's doing, when I asked Ava, our faces were at least an inch away. I sucked in a deep breath and bit my lip hoping not to smile.

Once we found Noah, we went back to the cabin. This time though, Ava walked behind with me. Since we were walking slowly, the crew already got back to camp but we got a little lost. My solution? Use my tiny-ass watch light.

I heard a branch crack and some bushes ruffle; something we both could confirm wasn't of our doing. I got a little scared and held Ava's hand the entire way back.

We found our way back, luckily. Dinner was trash. Once we got in bed, everyone was already there, including Lou who was sitting on the spare bunk reading. Destiny was fixing her hair, Gwen was playing on Destiny's phone and Ava was reading a book. "Whatcha reading there- Harry Potter?! Wow, classic! Love that one."

After a couple minutes of reading, Lou announced that we all had to go to bed. Ava perfected the bed and held onto her Crocodile plush while I grabbed my Bear. I laid in the bed; both of our backs facing each other. My leg shifted around the sheets trying to find a cold spot. Ava turned around and whispered, "Hey, go find a f***ing cold spot on your side." My solution to THIS problem was throwing off the comforter until Ava complained. She neatly pulled it back over her shoulders and shushed me, letting me know that I should stop. So, I let one of my legs dangle over the edge of the bed. Ava turned back towards the wall but turned back around, saying, "My nose is touching the darn wall and it stinks."

After all this moving around, we both were laying on our stomachs, causing me to nearly fall off. "Didn't you say you need someone to hold you?" Ava couldn't help but sigh as she lazily slung her arm over my waist, spooning me. She then threw her leg over mine. "Better?"

I slightly smiled; glad that she couldn't see that I AM smiling. I hummed and then said, "Night, Granny King."

She let out a gentle laugh as she said, "M'kay. Goodnight, Weird Baby Y/L/N."
