"We should get going,"

Ryujin said, standing up. The two nodded obediently. When she arrived home, she waited for Yeji to call her since they had a routine to call each other every night. But then, Yeji didn't call her. She took the initiative to call her first but nobody answered. She sighed then went to bed feeling sad especially when she'll officially help Yeonjun pursue Yeji. She felt hopeless.

______

As days passed by, Yeji was becoming busier and having less time for her. Ryujin understands but she felt a burden in her chest everytime she help Yeonjun get close to Yeji. She saw how they got closer. How Yeji was happier with him than she is with her. It never fail to make her want to tell her how much she loves her.

There was a time that she almost confessed as she was caught up in the moment. It was a fine starry night when they managed to call each other after so long since Yeji would often sleep early from being exhausted with their practice.

"Yeddeong,"

Ryujin said as she sat by the window looking at the moon. She heard Yeji hummed in response.

"I have something to tell you."

She continued. Yeji replied excitedly on the other line,

"me too."

Ryujin felt her heart beating fast out of being nervous. She gulped and chuckled nervously as she replied,

"O-Okay...you first."

She patiently waited for what she's going to say. In a hushed tone, Yeji answers,

"I think I like someone."

Ryujin felt her breath hitched, hearing her answer. She licks her lips as she whispered in a sad tone,

"who?"

Yeji answers,

"Yeonjun"

Hearing her answer broke her heart. She breathed heavily to compose herself and to keep her tears at bay. She knew at some point she'll like him back but it hurts a thousand times once she hear her say it. She replied an answer that leaves a bitter taste in her mouth,

"Oh...I'm happy for you."

She wiped the lone tear the escaped from her eye as she clenched her teeth.

"Thanks, Ryuddaeng. You know I'll forever be grateful for having you as my bestfriend, right? I'll always love you, Ryuddaeng. Remember that."

Yeji said softly on the other line which further broke her heart.

"Of course,"

Ryujin smiled bitterly as she hugged her plushy in attempts to sooth the pain she felt in her chest.

"What about me? Don't you love me?"

Ryujin could already imagine Yeji pouting face. She bit her lips then closed her eyes as she tried to reply in soft tone,

"I love you more than you can ever imagine,
Yeji."

Yeji smiled happily on the other line, unaware that the other girl's reply had a deeper meaning. She then asked curiously,

"You said, you wanna tell me something."

Ryujin pursed her lips as she rests her back on the chair. She said in a bitter tone,

"Nothing. Forget it."

Yeji furrowed her eyebrows as she asked,

"Are you sure?"
