Phil finally thought Tommy was well enough to go outside, so Phil shoved his foster son into the car, and then he drove away.

"Where are we going?" Tommy asked after about five minutes of driving. Phil smirked.

"You'll see", he said, not taking his eyes off the road. Tommy groaned.

"Come on big man! Just tell me!" he said, frustrated. Phil chuckled.

"Nope!" he replied. Tommy huffed and turned on the radio. The channel playing had the most shit music he had ever heard, but it seemed to bother Phil more than it bothered him, so he let it be.

"Tommy, can you please change the channel?" Phil asked after a while.

"No", Tommy smirked. Phil sighed.

"Okay, it's fine, we're nearly there anyways", he said.

A couple minutes later, Phil parked the car in a parking lot. Tommy opened the door and jumped out. It didn't take him long to realise they were in front of a mall.

"No. No way", Tommy said as he began to try walking away. Phil grabbed his arm.

"You're coming with me. You admitted you only had one jumper, and that's enough information for me to realise you haven't got a lot of clothes", he said while dragging his foster son towards the big mall. Tommy tried to struggle against his foster father's grip, but failed miserably. A woman a couple metres away saw the scene unfold.

"Um, excuse me, is everything all right?" she went up to the two males. Phil nodded.

"Yes, I was just gonna go buy some new clothes for my son, turns out he didn't have much and didn't tell me", Phil chuckled, looking down at the younger who stuck his tongue out at him.

"Big men don't need shit, Phil", he said. Phil chuckled again and ruffled his hair, only to get his hand slapped away.

"Do you really let your child treat you like this?" the woman asked with narrowed eyes. Phil looked a bit taken aback.

"I- He- he was just messing around, and-" "Don't you think he's a bit old for that?" The woman cut him off, pissing Tommy off.

"Look, bitch, Phil is poggers as fuck and you're obviously fuckin' not. Don't tell him what to do!" he said. The woman seemed offended.

"Now listen here-", she began, but Tommy cut her off.

"Sure, he's raised some... questionable sons, but at least they aren't fuckin' perfect little pussies that does exacty as they're told, they actually have humour and a personality, something you clearly lack", he continued before stalking away towards the mall.

"Yo, that was amazing, mate!" Phil laughed as he caught up with his foster kid. "Thank you", he added.

"For what?" Tommy asked, confused.

"For defending me from that lady", Phil replied, ruffling the younger's hair. Tommy shrugged.

"She was being a dickhead. It was natural", he said without much emotion in his voice. Phil laughed at his words.

"Come on now, we're buying you some new clothes, and a backpack", Phil said, taking Tommy's arm and dragging him towards one of the shops.
