Doug remembered the day he and Evie talked it over. The day he would stand up against the other dwarves and decide to do his own thing and ask if it would be all right if he could pursue other career opportunities, especially with Ben's Villain Kid of Storybrooke program so that the descendants of the storybook villains back in Misthaven didn't have to follow in their parents' footsteps especially since he was the son of a hero, Belle, and a villain, Rumplestiltskin. He had to stand brave and tall against his father and six uncles to tell them they he wanted to do something else with his life ever since he was given his late Uncle Stealthy's pic-axe in the fallen dwarf's absence so they wouldn't be the more well-known seven dwarves when they were originally eight dwarves. Doug felt guilty about trying to stand up against his father and uncles for this very reason, though Evie said it would be rough and a little sad, he should still do what's best for him and not let a thing like rejection keep him down. He was soon toiling in the mines yet again with his father and uncles so that they could help bring a certain substance back into Storybrooke that was long gone ever since The Dark Curse hit.

"Pic-axes down, brothers!" Happy soon announced to the other dwarves. "First round at Granny's is on me!"

"At last..." Doug whispered to himself since he could finally stop working as he didn't like this work as much as his family did despite being a fellow dwarf, though technically, a half-dwarf teenager.

Doc soon rushed over to go to one dwarf who was still determined to get his work done. "Come on, Leroy. We're going to miss Happy Hour." he then alerted.

"Granny's running a two-for-one special on mead." Happy soon told the others.

"Just 'cuz it's called 'Happy Hour' Happy, don't mean you gotta be there," Leroy scoffed at his constantly smiling brother. "We got work to do."

"But you're tired. We all are," Happy insisted. "A break could help."

"Yes... PLEASE, Uncle Leroy... Let's take a break!" Doug begged as he looked very desperate.

"Charming asked us to mine for dust. Fairy dust. To help bring Snow, Evie, and Emma back home," Leroy retorted. "And that's... What I'm... Gonna... DOOOOOO!" he then added as he continued to hack at the wall with his axe, until suddenly, he broke through the wall and fell through into another cavern.

The other six dwarves looked over to Leroy in a bit of concern.

"...Uncle Leroy?" Doug called weakly, feeling like his decision would have to wait about telling his family members what he wanted to do with his life.

Soon, David was called to the scene as he rushed over the squad car, bringing Mother Superior, Dee Dee, Nova, and Henry with him. Once the party showed up at the mines, Doug them right inside to see what had happened that caused the call.

"Where is he?" David asked the teen.

"Just right this way," Doug replied. "I haven't seen anything like this. At least, I don't think so."

Henry and Dee Dee looked at each other as they continued to follow after Doug as Dee Dee held Nova's hand on the way inside. Doug then showed them the cavern where Leroy had landed, which was lined with diamonds.

"Are those...?" Henry began to ask.

"Diamonds. They're back," Mother Superior nodded as they took a look. "The magic brought them back."

"You mean, the kind that becomes fairy dust?" Dee Dee asked.

"Indeed. We just need to refine them, grind them up." Nova nodded.

"Yes, Sister Astrid," Mother Superior agreed before looking at the blonde man in the group. "Do you still have what remains of Jefferson's hat?" she then asked him.
