"Who could that be?" Aunt Linda said approaching the door.
"If aunt Linda finds out I'm dead!" My inside voice said while she opens the door for the unknown guest.
"Edosa you didn't tell me you where going anywhere after school" she sai...
School was a little stressful than expected today. Guess what? I got punished for skipping P.E during fourth period. Gosh! I hate sports, I don't get it; How do people even cope with all the running, jogging and some other stuffs I can't actually remember...Oh well!!! What's my freaking business with sports, when I've got books to keep me academically fit.
Yeah, that's my life for you. Either you take it or leave it.
"I'm home!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs
"Efosa, good thing your back early" A familiar feminine figure stood in front of me
"Aunt Linda!" I said with my mouth open agape
"In the flesh" she said in her usual American accent
"Are you going to stand there with your mouth wide open, or give your aunt a hug" she ushered me.
"I didn't expect you'll be in Nigeria..."
"Until Christmas I know" she finished
"Well, there's been a change of plan, as you can see I'm six months pregnant" she said proudly rubbing her bumped stomach.
"I didn't even notice, congratulations!" I said to her.
"Thank you, I'm so happy I'll become a mother soon" she beamed.
"Okayyy" I said, nervously rubbing my neck
"Wait a minute Where's Uncle? And when did you get here?" I asked out of curiosity
"Well, your uncle's with your dad at the hospital, and for your second question, I got back early this morning"
"And practically I'm exhausted, pregnancy isn't as easy as it looks" she said taking her seat on the couch.
"So how's school and stuff? Still the same old handsome nerd you used to be huh?" She asked
"Aunt Linda, you already know who I am, I can't change that" I replied
"Well, I still love you the way you are, you are so cute with those glasses of yours" she said softly pinching my cheek
"At least someone compliments my glasses in the house; What Edosa does the best is to insult it" I said with a tone of sarcasm.
"That reminds me, I haven't seen Edosa. Don't both of you come home together?" She asked
"I wish? I usually take the school bus, while our driver drives Edosa to school" I explained to her
"Ohhhh! So you both are like in the movies where both siblings go their separate ways" she said
"No! It's not like that we're good actually, it's just that Edosa can be quite a jerk a times" I explained
"I understand you very much, when I was younger..."
